I just can't understand how a 2 x 5.25" speaker (Polk TSI 300) can be better at reproducing sound than a 2x6.5" woofer + 2x6.5' mid woofer (Polk Monitor 70).
This, regardless of price and a sub woofer system.
Where can I find this type of information.
Receiver Sony STR HD800
Center: CS10 Polk
Front: Monitor 70 Polk
Sub: PSW 10 Polk
Sorround : OWM3 Polk

I also don't see how the TSi 300's could out perform the Monitor 70's either. I have never heard the 300's, but I own the 70's and don't see how a speaker half the size could out do them.

Alright guys...like said above..there are lots of posts on this...not the least of which are mine.

I own TSI-300s and M70s so there you go. While the 300s are a nice speaker they CANNOT COMPETE WITH THE M70s--those are the flagship...

If you want to debate the debate is M70s vs. TSI-500s! Now, there the jury is out.

Right from the horses mouth (not that I think you look like a horse, lol) Yeah and the jury will have to be out a little longer, I got bumped a bit on the 500 demo, damn shipping costs, lol.

I'm pretty sure cnh knows that the Monitor 70's are not Polk's Flagship, he wasd refering to them being the Flagship of their series.

My man you must have never hears Totem speakers go! They use just a 1 inch tweeter and a single 5 1/4 inch driver and outperform speakers with 1 inch tweeter 2 6 inch drivers and 2 7 inch drivers. Go figure that out with your logic.

It doesn't matter size until your trying to fill large areas then size matter. Reproducing quality sound it's not as much as a factor. You can't judge a speaker but driver size. Your ears will do all that for you.

Very true, I was just remarking about the two specific models he was refering to.

How can 2 speakers be better than 4 ? Hmmm... much like women, I prefer mine with 2 **** rather than 4. Though the one with 4 will be more fun to dance with, 2 is much more appealing.

Ok, enough coffee for me today.
