What kind of business do you have?, I thought you were a Police Officer?
Nah, that's just the story he uses to get free cups of coffee at convenience stores...
Good for you, Tom. I love hearing stories like yours. Long hours and responsibilities aside, trying to type the list of tax benefits for owning your own business would exhaust my laptop battery. Best of luck to you and yours!
HarrySo, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

That's the best news I've seen in a while Tom. I'm real glad for you! COOL!!
CJA so called science type proudly says... "I do realize that I would fool myself all the time, about listening conclusions and many other observations, if I did listen before buying. That’s why I don’t, I bought all of my current gear based on technical parameters alone, such as specs and measurements."

Hey Tom, you got any pics of your work? I would love to see the before and afters of anything you've restored...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Note to self. Do NOT read a thread like tis while eating a chef salad. My keyboard and monitor will never be the same... -
Hehe, obviously Tony didn't read the whole thread.... The breathe was good while it lasted, BTW. It made me reflect on things and allowed me some quality time with the family.
Sal, it is [as I'm sure you have figured out by now] a home/commercial restorative services business. We basically would have gone into a 1-80 year old property and make it look brand new or build [let's say] a gym from the metal framing up....to finishing or restoring a bank or an insurance office. At the same time, painting and restoring [multiple properties, interior and exterior] apartment complexes on the commercial level without going into HVAC, plumbing or flooring. The new business is a complete turn-key operation doing basically the same thing but on a volume level much larger, this time with the housing market. The whole shebang. From landscaping to painting, cleaning to restoration. We now do it all and this company will be nothing like the last one. It will be on any given day 3-4X as large as it was with the potential to grow exponentially without the pressure to "have" to do so.
EndersShadow, unfortunately when my hard drive/'puter failed a year or two back? I lost all of my photos/documents. I had a backup to save it all but the backup failed and basically lost everything. Damned shame because I had some rather sweet photos/pricing and documentation to make quite the portfolio for a potential client. With that said, there should be PLENTY of photos here in the near future. The volume to be expected just at the start is, to be honest, more than I had ever expected. It won't be overwhelming but it won't be like the last company......at all. This is the big leagues for a business like this. Good news is, we will be able to hire many folks and help stimulate the local economy. That's always good thing.
Oh, shut up Russ. Ya' bug wuss. BTW, Florida is too long of a commute.......and I need to talk to you about your little one. More on that in a private conversation. Give me a jingle when you get the chance and quit training new people to drive wearing blindfolds. I never did think that was a good idea!
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Yep, spot on Tom....I didn't.
My mistake....but congrats anyway for going BACK in business  Been on both sides of that fence myself and can honestly say owning your own business is the most nerve racking thing in the world. In todays climate, I'd probably have gone postal on someone by now.HT SYSTEM-

Thank guys [and gals]! It is a good feeling but I do know that we have much work that needs to be done before the re-launch.
Well, just picked up the trailer today...WHOA! That thing is big. It's a Challenger, dual axle, electric brake, barn back doors and side door, full compliment of LED's and it's kind of weird to see an empty trailer again. It's amazing to look at this cavernous thing [7'x16' with a 6'3" inside height] knowing full well that it will be loaded to the hilt in less than two weeks. We still have to build the shelving units and test the weight all around to insure a safe drive but I made sure that this trailer would be capable of getting the job done and actually handling the load we are planning to put into it. Time to put the Chevy back to work!!!
It took me almost three hours and an hour and a half of driving to find the type locks that are required. I can not believe most of the locks they sell today for trailers. Every single one of them could be broken into within a matter of seconds or easily bypassed with minimal noise or time. No wonder trailer crimes are so rampant. While it may have taken me going through probably about 12 catalogs at one place and 5 or 6 at another, I was actually able to find the locks I had before. I possess two of them already, two more will have to wait until June [unless I get lucky and find some elsewhere] and I need to order a set of 3 same key temporary or "while we are on site" locks to keep the sticky fingers out while we are working. We are also working on setting up a self powered alarm for motion detection as well as open door detection and since this is not offered by any company, no thief will know how to disable it. Oh yeah, gettin'er done baby!
