They run a little warm. It's nothing to worry about unless you like to worry. Just use common sense and don't stuff it in a small enclosed cabinet with no ventilation.
10/4. If you guys put the Onkyo in the enclosed cabinet, you guys may as well put some bacons and eggs on top the Onkyo for a double duty : H/T and a skillet.:D -
Amen to that...they've been clocked at up to 136 degrees! Lots of air..and even fan coolers are in order....so far I run mine on the Floor with NOTHING above it...but am considering a cooler there as well because it still gets too hot to touch at times!
Hey, you know that left over pizza that's always in your fridge...forget about the microwave just ONKYO it!!
I'd like to see ONKYO come out with a 5 year warranty and put their mouth behind the, "heat does not matter...we engineer them to run hot" claim! Over 5 years we would SEE IF HEAT MATTERS OR NOT!!!
Especially when MOST of that heat is searing your HDMI video board?? Wonder how many video failures Onkyos have over 5 years!! Obviously they can last 2 years--their warranty period!

Did not mean to disagree with you but my son's Onkyo 704 was stuffed inside a glass door cabinet. Yet it runs hot but it has been over few years with no flame yet. -
Great idea...I wish I had my 805 here in Beijing because its been getting a bit too chilly at night. If I had the money I could buy one of those GOLD faced Asian models I've seen here and warm my bedroom with it? Oh and a pair of Polks...I found a shop that sells them here!
