Stop that rattling!

I thought I would share my new year's project with you guys:D I have hardwood floors, so the micro pro's were rattling everything. It was to the point where is wasn't "cool" anymore, lol! I've seen the subdude out there and heard a lot of positive feed back, so I figured I would see what I could build with all the junk I have laying around. I literally had everything to build it, so all it cost me was a little time, so I figured why the hell not... It is basically composed of layers of MDF, rubberized foam, and dynamat with low profile rubber feet on the bottom.

I routed out the top of it where the bottom sub would sit so that the feet fit perfectly and wouldn't be able to "walk". The top sub has automotive grade two sided black trim adhesive under the feet to keep it safely in place. It probably took me longer to make since my tool selection is limited. I'm very happy with the end result:) The bass is cleaner and tighter, with MUCH less rattling now! What do you guys think? I'm proud of myself, haha!

Thanks! EQ'd? What exactly are talking about? Do you mean Xover/levels etc? If so, then some, but not done yet. I just finished today. I haven't run audyssey yet, or really tweaked it, but it's pretty close I think.

Nothing like a home made tweak to fix a problem. Things rattling from the sub are one of the hardest room acoustic fixes.

I will definitely give a review after I FINALLY get them set up the way I like. I've had them a few weeks, but am slowly taking steps to get them properly integrated. I can tell you that they are definitely different from what I had, so the combination of settings and letting my ears adjust to the different type of bass has taken a little time:)

Just received a pro3000 from Polkdirect and still playing with the settings.
I figured with the weight of this thing and the rubber feet,
this ain't going nowhere, but it once it started pounding, it
was dancing all over the tile floor. I put some small rubber cups
(I found at Home Depot) under the feet and seemed to alleviate
the problem. very satified with the bass, no more boom, just very tight,
accurate, fast and clean, excellent music SQ, blends nice with my M7's

Congrats! That's a nice sub, I know I'm loving my 1ks. Are you having the same experience I am, as in a "different" kind of bass? Those things seem to "transfer" the low notes across the room quite well.

this is my first real sub, I upgraded from a 10yr old Yamaha which was a toy
compared to the microPRO. I watched Swordfish on BD and the microPRO blew
me away and with music, from jazz to the 1812 overture, very impressed

Give it some time to break in, and it will likely get even better. Mine are sounding better every time I use them:) I've already started turning them down a little at a time as they start break in. I down 1.0db from where I started when they were new.
