I rarely ever use a CD player anymore. I have had my very nice Pioneer ELite 400 Disc setting in it's box for years. Probably like 7 years now. I never even hooked it up since I moved into my new house years ago.

Using a Blu ray player as a cd player is perfectly fine. If you have it digital out , you will have a hard time hearing any difference at all. If you have analog out for cd , this is where it will make a difference depending on the quality of DAC and analog cables used. I say uninstall the cd player and use the Blu ray Digital. Less gear less mess. Less is more.

Agreed, If your using the digital out-your using your Blu-ray player
as a transport. If you are going to use the analog outs, then a Blu-Ray
player like the new Oppo BDP-83se would be the ticket:)
