Pontiac is giving $6500 cash back on new cars.

Including the incentive, you can supposedly buy a new G3 for under $10k.

Would you get one of these and why?

A base model G3 is $14,335 before tax, title, and dealer fees.

If they are really giving $6500 off isn't that a great deal?

Yep, Saturn is doing the same so I'm checking them out because GM will continue to service and supply parts but resale will suck for sure.

Of course they won't have any resale value. But right now I've got a bunch of problems with my old car and even if I fix it myself the parts aren't cheap. Which is probably what I am going to do - just throwing the idea around.

It's tempting. I currently have a 99 Mustang GT with 100,000 miles if I could get 5-6,000 for it trading it in. That would leave about 2,000 difference for a new G3. Definitely will be a slower car, and don't care for the look so much, however it would be new and give better gas mileage. I like the G5, G6, and G8, but the price adds up pretty fast. I signed up for the student discount program they have, I save $400-$1000 off the MSRP, but they charge $750 to deliver it to me.

Same here. A G3 would be a 2,000-3,000 difference but I know I'm not going to spend that much on parts. So it's either fix the Nissan myself or buy a Pontiac G3.

No. I mean the Saturn Sky, but i'd take an Opel GT.

Think that's good? How about $11,000 of the price of a Saab?
At least that is what I'd get from my Brother-in-law's discount, and that is in addition to the actual Emp Disc Price!
    https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/ip-gmemployee/do/tab_regional

I'd love to have a G8 GT, but silly me, I went and bought that Speed3 back in August. BTW, Pontiac has pretty much had $4-5k in discounts continuously since summer.

Aside from looks, the biggest difference is type of forced air type on the flagship models: turbo or supercharger. My preference would be the turbo....being the Saturn. (which is also the better looking one too! ;) )
