Is your New SurroundBar SDA IHT cutting off when watching Blu-ray or DVD movies, regardless of what the Gain switch is set at?
There are a few Troubleshooting steps to try before contacting Polk Audio Customer Service..
1. The simplest and most straight forward is to realize that the Surround Bar SDA IHT is a smaller system designed to give room filling sound, in a smaller to average room size. We are talking 10x10-10x15 foot rooms maximum (however this could prove to be smaller or larger depending on the personal taste of some listeners). The main thing to realize is that the bar cutting off is a form of protection as to not damage internal components that high gain signals in the form of very powerful sound effects from discrete source material such as DVDs and Bluray.
- Simple solution is to Turn the volume of the system down, if this is not an option than the Surround Bar SDA IHT may not be the proper model for you, Try looking into our other more powerful surroundbar models such as the SurroundBar 360 or SurroundBar original models in 42" and 50" versions.
2. Another, more rare case is if the bar is cutting out no matter what the volume it is set at on the bar itself, low..high.. it doesnt seem to make a differance.
a. The TV has variable line out, meaning that even with the TV speakers disabled the volume from the RCA output on the TV is still controlled by the TV's volume adjustment, this can cause to high of a source signal to be fed into the Surround Bar itself.
- Because this is a feature inherant to some televisions, the only way around this is the set the TV volume at 50% and program the Surround Bar SDA IHT to its Slim remote for volume adjustment.
In the event that none of these cases prove true to your situation please contact Polk Audio Customer Service for more detailed troubleshooting steps.

My new acquired SB360 is a not a pleasant experience. The sound from my 1080p 40" Toshiba thru the SB 360 is way off. The sound cut on and off no matter what volume setting on the Toshiba TV ouput. Either RCA or Toslink connection does not help. The sound does not synchronize with the TV sound no matter what. AS the matter of fact the sound from the Toshiba speAKers is better and louder than the SB360.
Too bad that Newegg has no return policy on BULK items. This defeat the whole purpose of buying th SB360. -
I just got off the phone with Polk Audio CSR. Good customer service comes to rescue since Newegg won't accept exchange. I am waiting for the prepaid box so I can send the unit in for a replacement.
Kudos to folks at Polk Audio for not letting me down.:) -
