I wouldn't consider Best Buy a local B&M by any means.

Best Buy does not match online pricing, nor should they be expected to IMO. How anyone can reasonably expect a local B&M store that has a much higher cost of overhead to maintain to match the price of somewhere online who can ship it out of a warehouse at a much lower overhead is beyond me.

We have major entitlement issues in this country...

What about stores like Bj's, Costco, Sams Club that buy in bulk and sell cheaper than stores like Best Buy, hhgregg, etc.........

hhgregg priced matched a 52 inch Sharp Aquos TV for me from Bj's. Not only did hhgregg price match the TV (which was about $400.00 below their asking price) they also gave me the upgraded model for the same price. Yesterday i asked them to price match an AVR which Newegg had for $100.00 cheaper and they damn near had a cow!!! I walked out of the place.

    I agree.

I've had a chance to look at Newegg's financial statements and have an idea of what Best Buy's probably look like. I can't go into too much detail, but it would be unfair to expect a B&M chain like Best Buy to price-match an online vendor like New Egg. Two completely different business models.

I see your point, but IMHO if they don't keep up with the times they soon will end up like CC. If I can save $1000 on a TV by getting Best Buy to price match, I am sure as heck gonna try. They bend people over everyday with who knows how many dollars of costs for their "proffesional" services that they can stand to give a little back with the few people who try to get them to price match. I was in BB recently and an elderly couple was buying a Harmony remote, the salesperson talked them into Geeksquad coming to set it up for them for a measly $99, which ironically was more than the remote cost!! Just my $.02

I just bought a Onkyo TX-ST607.2 from Amazon.

It's superb AVR; unfortunately for me, I had just assumed :o it was an upgraded 605.1. (w/addtional subout) Well it's not and I wish I had paid attention and bought the 707.2.

I would be willing to sell it for $345 shipped.

I know this should be posted in the FS section (and I'll be doin this soon), but since there was a thread on the Onkyo, please forgive me.

It's brand new, only 2 weeks old and still have original packings and shipping container with all instructions.

I'm not following you...that's exactly what the 607 is---an upgraded 605 with 2 sub-outs...and with the new Dolby Height speakers!

So how is that 'not' an upgrade? The pics SHOW two sub-outs!!

If you want pre-outs then yes, go with the 707...the 600 series has NEVER HAD PRE-OUTS!
