I'm watching my Colts play tonight, first time I've ever watched the NFL Network. Wow, the coverage is a joke.

They spend so much time with the guys talking in the studio, saying basically the same thing over and over, THEN go to commercial, then by the time they come back from the commercial the Colts drive is already several plays in progress.

The game breaks are excessively long.

They just did it again with the Jag's next posession, by the time they cut in the Jags are already on the Colts side of the field - absolutely ridiculous.

Wow, what a joke...

You are completely correct. You would think they would have the best coverage, but it is just awful. I'm just glad the Cowboys/Saints game Saturday will also be on a local station. Otherwise I'd be watching it on NFL Network and listening to the radio.

I think it's the online coverage that's so bad, I don't get the NFL Network with Time Warner, so I have to view the online coverage.

However, I was able to find a live feed of the TV coverage online and it's completely different coverage, without all the highlights and crap running over the live game. The commentary isn't great, but at least the coverage is there.

+1 The coverage is abysmal and the technical direction is pathetic. I can't imagine how they can look at themselves in the mirror. NFL Films ought to beat hell out of these guys.

But don't despair, Peyton will win. Probably in the last 54 seconds. ;)

The NFL network sucks. Period. Worst commentary I've ever heard. I get it for free but certainly would never pay for it.

Sorry, I was busy flirting with Joanna, the bartender and bilking beer off of my co-workers. Did the Colts win? The screen was blurry at the time. The only thing I remember is Joanna's phone number and that she told me I was a sweetheart in Spanish. She smelled pretty too.

Anytime the Patriots play on a cable channel (ESPN, NFL) our local ABC affiliate simulcasts the game... however, it is still the cable feed, so you're not going to get a new set of announcers or a different clip package, you're just able to watch NFL's feed on a different channel.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Hhhmmmm. I thought it was the local guys, but that could be entirely wrong. Sounds like I may have to watch it and listen to the radio guys afterall.

That was a great game last night, but up until the 4th quarter the Colts were playing some terrible defense. They put Freeney and Mathus in for the last couple drives full time and they got enough pressure on Garrardd that he started making bad throws.

We got a good look at the Colts defense last night without a few of their starters and it wasn't impressive, lets just hope they keep enough guys healthy to do well in the playoffs.

I can't stand the NFL network . . its a football game, cut to commercial on timeouts, let us see the plays. The commentary is so bad, give me Madden over these jokers any day. I'd rather see his color crayon sketches over every other play and hear about his man Brett than listen to these guys on the NFL network.

On a related note, am I the only one who dislikes the revamped Monday night broadcast team...especially John Gruden. He sounds like he is yelling instead of speaking all the time.

I'd take Gruden over Kornheiser anyday - that guy drove me frickin' nuts with his inane non-sequitur babbling.

At least there is some synergy between "jaws" and Gruden and both were 'in' the game so at least have relevant comments.

Ah Gruden's fine. He just gets excited, that's all. The guy brings great insight especially since he's worked with some very impressive names and his work was recent. Jaworski has great technical knowledge but when he starts telling stories he sound like a geezer in a rocking chair because it's all ancient history compared to what's going on now. But the two of them balance it all out and I really don't mind listening to them.

Like what was said, it's a hell of alot better than Tony Kornholer.

I like Tony Kornheiser, but not in the MNF booth. He was AWFUL.

Gruden and Jaws know their ****, they're just both blowhards. Jaws has to always talk in that stupid **** announcer voice, and it drives me apeshit. Everything he says is always in the same stupid cadence where he builds up and then drops down for dramatic effect. Just speak like a normal human being, Jaworski, and you'd be the best person in the booth!

And stop saying "National Football League!!"

Korny Toneheiser is an annoying douchebag. I like Gruden even if he's a little loud. He seems like he's having fun and actually knows what he's talking about.
