Mythos 1 Pricing

Amazon has silvers for $599 each. I have been out of the loop lately and want to know if this is a good price. Previously, Amazon offered silvers for a good price but can not remember if they were priced as a pair or separate. Is the Mythos 8 still the recommended center? Does not look like Amazon is discounting the 8. I am starting from scratch so need recommendations on a receiver and surrounds. Home theater is the application.

    The Mythos 1's retail for 2000.00 so you tell me if thats a good deal. The 8 is the correct center. I suggest 8's for rears as well or Gem xl's. For a Sub I would use the Supercube I or II depending on the size of your room.

    Receiver would be a Pioneer ELite SC-25 or on the cheap side a Pioneer ELite Vsx23txh.

    Thanks for the info. It has been a year since I was looking at speakers. Are the Mythos 1's still at the top of your list (for the $). Noticed that the Amazon $599 price is being supplied by HIDEF Lifestyle. Is Def Tech offering the same price thru other dealers.
