What is the best way to clean, what I can only guess is mold from speakers grills? Its a white powdery looking stuff, from maybe sitting in a basement. I am thinking using dilluted vinegar maybe?

Take them outside and brush off as much mold as possible. Then use mild bleach and/or lemon juice and salt solution. Dry them in the sun to kill the remaining spores.Turntable: Empire 208

I did not have any mold on my 'new' speaker grills, but I had very good luck using my steam cleaner. They look like new.
FYI: If your grill frames are made from MDF, install them back on the speakers while they are fully dried, as the MDF can warp from added moisture.
Course I just did mine, so I can't give you any long term effects, so try it at your own risk. -
My SurroundBar and PSW10 have synthetic fiber cloth on plastic frames. They had some spots on them and I was able to wash them in the bathtub immersed in some warm water and dish soap. Left them in the sun to dry. No problems washing them this way but I wouldn't wash grills with particle board frames this way.

A steam cleaner would do a good job it seems as stated above. I'm not sure I'd try anything with bleach or you might end up with discoloration or some kind. What about a light ammonia mix with a wet/dry vac to suction them off?

Halo, do you have plastic or MDF grill frames? IF they are plastc, I was just thinki one coul actually try re-dyeing with fabric dye, after cleaning, if they were discolored. You could always recover them if it didn't work. IF they are MDF I would go easy on the liquids.
Good luck -
Thanks for the info. But the "deal" I had on acquiring these speakers fell through. So.....no need to clean them now.--Gary--
