Nice!! You barely ever see TL's come up for sale in our neck of the woods.

    I wish I had the coin...that's a great deal for a local.

I'd be all over them if I had a listening room large enough. But I don't so even though it's a killer deal...............I can't use them. If they were 2.3TL's

It's hard to tell from the tiny pic but the tweets look like sl2000's not sl3000's so they may not be TL's. Could just be the photo.

Him saying " SPEAKER GRILLES ARE OFF JUST TO SHOW COMPONENTS " implies that those are pics of the actual speakers....well those are SL2000 tweeters so those in the pic arent TL's.

I don't know. I've seen SL3000s that look silverish before.

It is hard to tell because the sl3000's can be shiny but they usually have a goldish or bronze tint, as you know Joe.

I guess it pays to ask lots of questions. IIRC, the TL's have some extra bolts in the X-over panel.

My SL3000's in my 2.3tl's are that exact same color. Silverish.

I told him I wanted them but wasn't interested in an auction on craigslist and to just tell me a price he wants for them so I can give him a yes or no.

He needs to put them on eBay if he wants to do a auction.

Sounds typical. He's full of crap and knew very well what he is/was doing.

Call his bluff and inform him that his ad states TL, but the pics show they are not, so what people offering a certain amount of $$ for and the prices for the model he is he is researching is not correct.

Being local craigslist , the first guy to his door usually walks off with them...ask to go look at them and instantly you will know if you might even entertain 1,250 ( Pristine true TL's ) ...or if they are scratched up SRS's not even worth 1,000.

Did that already also asked about condition and a bunch of other questions which he didn't answer, but he was able to inform me of the price jump.

Well, according to him, they're gone anyway. I emailed him, too, but luckily didn't have to deal with any of the **** that you did, just a simple "sorry, sold".

;) I'm the "guy from Chicago" , this dip$hit sends me this and still thinks their worth 1400$.

hi Dean . it was just brought to my attention that these are the 1.2 srs sda loudspeakers , but not the TL series which have a different tweeter (sl2000 vs. sl 3000) . dont think there is hardly any difference though . they are yours for 1350 cash . awesome speakers !! give me a call. i wont be home tomorrow but if sat. morning works for you thats good for me . 262-363-#### . thanks

    And here was my reply:
SDA-SRS's are not even worth a grand! I have 2.3tl's and there is a huge difference between them and non tl's, totally different crossover design. 750$-850$ is a good price for the original 1.2's. Good luck

I wouldn't even want these for 700$! The only step up for me would be the 1.2tl's and then I'd have to move into a house with a room big enough to use them. Gotta love CL knuckleheads!!!! And to think, for a couple of hours, I was even considering selling my 2.3tl's when they are almost where I want them.

Damn , you had him on the hook and cut the line

I would have paid good money just to see his face when you went on Sat ( A long ways off by the way , and the ad is still up ...still says TL's) and told him that you wouldnt go over 500 for SRS's in this condition. :D

Yes, the SL3000s in my 3.1TLs are silverish.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I've had both the more gold looking 3K's and the more silver looking 3K's...what gave these away as 2K's was something much more definative then color.

When you saved the pic and zoomed in, as soon as you zoomed one mouse wheel click in you saw the beads of sealant in 2 straight lines moving away from the center...3K's do not have this...so I knew these werent 3K's.

Here are pics of the 2 different colored 3K's I have had....and the 2K with the telltale in low res net pics sealant lines ( Easier to identify 2K's with then just using color...those long sealant beads are hard to hide )
