Hi polks, I've just purchase 2 pairs of db6501 on ebay and received them today. I was really happy when I received them but I was quickly disappointed when I see that each pair has one speaker surround not in normal shape. They are flattened )=. So I wonder if the flattened speaker surround will effect sound.

sorry the speakers are still in plastic bags so its really hard to take a clear picture. But they look very very similar to this one http://img470.imageshack.us/i/dls1hd0.jpg/ i found on google

A 'stock' photo does not show the "flattening" you are concerned about, so doesn't do much good towards showing the issue you are concerned with. From the picture you posted, I would describe those as a "wrinkled" surround, as opposed to "flattened".
That picture looks like a shifted magnet issue, and would sound 'scratchy' when you push in on the speaker cone (do NOT push in on the dust cap!!!)

IF your's look like that, I would say you have a "not as advetised/ not functioning" dispute unless yo got them "as-is", then I hope you got a good deal, as it looks like you only got one set of good speakers (combining the two good speakers)

IDK, try hooking one good and one bad to the xover and see how they sound???

I agree, they are not going to sound right unless they are in good condition. I mean they will work but not like they should.

well thanks guys :) . I hooked the speakers with my friend earlier and they sound pretty normal so I hope nothings going to go wrong later on. Yeah I got 2 pairs for $166 and they are like brand new, speakers are still sealed in plastic bags and stuff.
