Input too low error

Hi All-
I just added a PSW10 sub to my setup, and when I did the Auto Setup on my receiver to adjust the levels of my speakers, I received the error above(or something similar). I have the sub connected to the subwoofer output on receiver, into the left input on sub. The HZ control is set all the way clockwise, volume on sub 3/4 of the way up. The sub is set to ON, but it seems that the sub only kicks on during the very lowest of the low tones when watching dvd. Is this normal functionality, or is there some tweaking needed? This is my first system, so I am really not sure how this entry level sub should sound. Any advice?
Thanks

1) Use a Y-Splitter from the AVR sub out to the subwoofer's inputs if you have both L/R inputs. Makes a HUGE difference in volume levels.
2) If your sub is using the AUTO ON setting, change it to just ON, then try the AVR setup. After that, you can safely put it back to Auto On.
You've done the crossover correctly - as your sub has no LFE input, by putting your crossover to its highest setting, you have created an LFE input. Make sure your AVR's setting for its internal crossover using the sub output is set to 80 Hz.
