Newegg smells like stinky egg

I WOULD NOT recommend buying here. Neweggs service team is out of wack. Countless number of times, this year alone, has been nothing but hassles. Find something cheap only to realize its not quite the quality you expected. Mostly beacause its seconds and not first grade items. Or you find out the day before delivery that the item didnt ship at all. Than begins the long wait to have your money not tied up and not available for your use. Oh or how about this 1....Shipping is so bad by UPS, because of cheap contracts, that they could care less about your delicate and valuble equipment, leaving you to bite the bullet in either having to return the item or keep it with your fingers crossed. Or even better buy their lame contract warranty. Youll need it after UPS gets their hands on it. Crazy for an online retialer to start a website. Take a look around eggXperts.com much of the criticism is from unhappy buyers. Why would I buy from a place that makes only 50% of their buyers happy. I started buying from newegg.com 8 years ago and have and account history 14 pages long over $30-40,000.00. Believe me things have changed. Back then there were no high school MODS to deal with, that try their best to bring things in to perspective but eventually wind up running off customers. Things have changed and if change means closing or shuting down than Im all for it. Take a look around their forums and get a drift before you spend your hard earned money only to find out your funds are trapped in some portal somewhere. Oh and ask for cheapassasain. He is a real treat and will make your experience more enjoyable.

Just giving a heads up, Happy shopping.

You could be the only person I know who's ever had a problem with NewEgg. I've spent THOUSANDS wiht them over the years and never had a single issue.

Given your relatively new status here I'm skeptical of your motivations

Long time customer at Newegg, and looking at my history I've got a good +10k spent.

Not once had a problem with their customer service or products. There was an instance where my items couldn't be shipped out to me but that was on the receiver end (FPO/AP address). Other than that in all these years it's always been a positive experience.

Wow... I've been buying from NE after Buy.com switched from computer parts to more mainstream stuff and raised their prices. That was a long time ago. My HTPC was built mostly from parts ordered from NE and they were shipped in a box that was 5 times larger than necessary. I do admit that I've never dealt with RMA's or their CS people and I haven't ordered anything in about 8 months.

Like the others, I too haven't heard of anyone running into a problem with NE.

New Egg is fantastic. Some of the best products and web service I've ever experienced.

I peruse Newegg daily, and have done so for over 5 years. One of the best electronics sites EVER. Their service rivals that of Polk, prices and sales are great, and their shipping is flat out surreal.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Over 4k worth of business with NewEgg this year alone. Other than a small batch of Seagate HD's (with a known issue) I have had no problem. The RMA's were handled in a timely and professional manner.

Newegg is like Toys-R-Us for me , I have spent thousands of my own dollars...and multiples of that amount of other peoples money there...never an issue that wasnt dealt with correctly and promptly.

A while back, they had some issues with OEM drives being poorly packaged for shipment...I had 1 floppy...1 dvd...and 2 oem hard drives arrive damaged ( 3 different/separate orders ) ...all replaced no questions asked.

Nowadays their OEM packaging is bulletproof ( Basically bubblewrap the hell out of each individual component and wrap with clear shipping tape...ugly but very protective )

I too have used NE and never had the first issue. You are new here, and recommending another site. Without stating what your issues were with NE kinda smells of a troll imho. ;)

Most people at one time or another are gonna have an issue with any retailer. Everyone makes mistakes. That doesn't warrant slamming them the first though.

I have had two issues with newegg. One with part that was received broken and one where it was completely my fault and i ordered the wrong part. In both cases, I was not able to speak to a living human, but I got RMA's sent to me right away (using their on-line form) and they got it resolved (even the one that was not their fault).

I would and have done business with them since and recommended them to others.

Anytime you purchase products - there is a chance something will be wrong with them. What sets companies apart is how they deal with it. NewEgg did almost everything right and that is well worth my support.

At work, I build almost 100 PC's a year, from parts purchased at Newegg, that's a hell of a lot of parts. There is no where else left that you can find the selection and pricing they have.

The only issue we have had is the poor packaging of hard drives, usually just a single layer of bubble wrap, sometimes they stack several drives together, and then wrap it! Any more would apparently take up too much space with orders this size. Still, they always take care of problems quickly and without hassle.

For personal use I usually get most my parts from Newegg, but order the drives from zipzoomfly.com, they place them in a foam drive box, and then in a box filled with peanuts. Worth a couple extra bucks to me.

Looked up their tax info " Newegg charges the appropriate state and/or local sales tax for any order shipping to California, New Jersey, and Tennessee. "

So I guess there are more newegg sites then just the original.

I have been using them for a few years and have never had a bad experience. I did get an item with a missing part once and called them and they shipped out the part next day air for free.

You have to realize though that they are a massive operation with a lot of volume, they probably get tons of phone calls so sometimes you may have to hold for a bit.

Plus newegg always sends me goodies such as t-shirts and various goodies for being a good customer.
