So after a month I got it. Interesting enough was not double boxed, is missing the power chord and manual, has several straches on the back panel by the HMDI, and seeing it just had styrafoam around the player with no plastic bag or anything some small peices managed to get themselves into the audio outs. I wouldn't consider this a 10/10 but he did put the amount of shipping on the label and it was 34.00 so at least the 50.00 quoted for shipping makes me feel a bit better. Overall these are little things, and I'm just happy I finally got it! tested out the movie the departed and it looked great so it works!
    woohoo!

Sorry for your hard time on Audiogon. Had a bad exp there myself. Bought a very expensive 7 channel amp and it showed up weeks late and scratched. If it's a 10/10 it should be like new. With org box remote and everything that came with it new. The amp I purchased not only was scratched, 2 channels turned on about a minute after powering it on. I used amp a short time due to the fact I thought it might damage my speakers I sold it at a very big loss. My mistake was paying the guy over the phone with a credit card(he owned a AV store in downtown Chicago). Once he got my money he just took his time and did not care after the fact. I will going to Chicago soemtime soon and I will make sure to pay him a visit.
I am sure that there are good and bad on every website. Just sad that so many dirtbags out there. I have sold several things online and things have gone good. It just seems when ever I buy stuff I get screwed. Try always to stick with paypal at least some protection.

You should be able to go to your credit card company and get a credit if the seller won't rectify the problem.

    Joe,
If you recall, he paid with money order, not CC. The OP is pretty much SOL unless the seller cares about his feedback, which given the fact that he took a month to ship a BD player means he probably doesn't.

FYI to the OP and others, anyone saying their item is 10/10 is full of BS. 10/10 means sealed brand new in box. Even if it has been removed, its 9/10. 9/10 is like new, 8/10 is a pretty good looking, 7/10 is acceptable, and it goes down hill from there. Audiogon/Videogon have very strict guidelines on how an item should be rated based on the #, size, and location of flaws.

Actually a 10/10 can be removed from packaging and even used per A-gon definition:

I just sold an amp on A-gon and literally could have given it a 10 based on their criteria, but I went with a 9 just to be safe and avoid any buyer disappointments.

Well I do understand you can take it out of the box and use it but it has to be for a short period of time as well as it has to look brand new. If you ask me the number of scratches on the back would be a telltale sign it was used as well as the fact it was missing stuff, which I did confrim with the company that it should come with a power chord as well as others such as the red/white cable audio, ect, which I don't really care about its more of the principal of the matter. I can down load the manual but its just annoying.

And I ended up also filing a dispute on videogon, which caused him to be banned from the site. I told him that if the item was not in said condition I wouldn't lift anything and that I would still have my complaint out there because if he did it once, he'll do it again. He did even respond back to the dispute, or even care about the feedback I left which was negative and so forth. Sad thing is too he was a reviewer for some of the HT forums I found out and its just kinda like he should probably know better but guess not.
Like I said it was about a month of hell for me to go through to be able to finally get it was relief and was just happy to get it. From now on I'm probably just sticking with the FS in the Club polk and possibly only audio/videogon if the guy has a ton of feedback, because this person even did have good feedback and was a member forever, but ended up not meaning much.

I'll probably put up some pics later tonight to show the amount of straches on the unit and why you can't really say its a 10/10. I personally would have said 8 or 7 just due to straches I saw but oh well.

Yes, that is correct, but is also says "Very few pre-owned or demo items qualify for this level." Most sellers on Audiogon are conservative and will grade it lower to be safe. The real key to 10/10 is that the item must be used for than a year. The BD player that the OP purchased is an '08 model, so most likely, it was used for more than a year prior to the sale. Either way, the seller over-rated his item due to the scratches, etc.

Glad everything worked out for you. That's why I love Craigslist, I can see the item before I buy it.

I'm happy I finally got it too, I love the picture it puts out and just wow. I'm having a movie marathon this weekend lol. And yeah Karma is a **** and I do hope that he learns why its not cool to dick around with people. I'm pretty easy going about stuff if you acutally talk to me and let me know whats going on because things do happen in life, and I don't wish anything bad upon a person but for no contact after getting my money was annoying and just plain rude.
oh well, its over now and I'm happy, now I just need some recommendations as to what movies to get on blue ray...hmmmm...
