I've had this sub since November 3(less than 30days) and it is broke:( All this time I've been thinking it was something near the sub rattling, but unfortunately, it's the sub. I finally decided to try and find what was rattling and couldn't, so I took the sub in another room and hooked it up. To my dismay, it is definitely the speaker. It's very obvious, I guess I didn't notice as much since it was across the room from where I sit, until it kept seeming to get more annoying. I never had turned up that loud either. It was pretty loud I thought when I first hooked it up, but it was barely moving 3/8 of an inch when I took the grill off to see how much it was moving. I got it from the egg, and it has a bulk return policy, so I'm screwed there. It had a cracked grill when I got it, but I promptly ordered another from Polk the same day. The packaging looked fine etc., etc. That just makes it worse, because the other item (Energy speakers) that purchased from the egg at the time were damaged to. They sent me a return label, and refunded my money so I thought all was well. It just sucks:( I guess I need to contact Polk for a warranty solution then, right? I have small surrounds, so no sub = crappy sound. I know Polk has great CS, so hopefully, they will be able to take care of me on this one. I guess I'll have put the 11Ts in for TV duty until this is resolved:mad: It just won't be the same...Anyone got any advice on the best way to handle this? Thanks a lot guys:)

Really sorry to hear about your problem...but unfortunately things can happen and do every so often! It's not cool! But don't fret too much because you're under warranty and Polk will take care of it to your satisfaction...you'll be up and running a lot faster than if you were dealing with, let's say, Onkyo? Awful CS there!

    Xcapri is right...

Thanks guys. I know polk's CS is top notch, but the situation just sucks. I'm sure polk will take care of me:) I really just wanted to vent a bit I suppose:o I think the PSW505 has the potential to be a great sub for ME, I'm just gonna have to wait until I can really find out. I haven't had a chance to really see what it can do. It's funny, because I've been thinking something on the shelve beside it was rattling all this time, lol! Wish me luck then! Thanks again:)

Ok, so the 505 is back in business:D I asked Polk CS if they could just ship me a new driver, since I was sure that was the problem, and they did! How many companies would actually take a customer's word sight unseen? I think that is very awesome of them. I installed the new driver along with the new felt trim ring they also sent me with no problems, and watched T4 tonight as a matter of fact. It sounds great and the everything is rattling in the house, lol. The good part is that I have a smallish room which is 12x17x8, so I don't have to push it very hard to get good results. Anyway, I just want to point out, as MANY others have, Polk CS is the best! I have my sub back at not cost to me, and they were very helpful. As I've said before, a product is only as good as it's service IMO! Thanks again POLK:)

Just searching for info on the PSW505. I love coming across stories like these! Makes me very glad I've filled my house inside and out with Polk! Just recommended Polk to one of my friends and he put together a full 5.1 setup. Haven't had to use CS yet but I know if I do I'm in good hands. Thanks Polk!
