I can't stand these ****. I have payment under hold/investigation from a member here, and i completely trust the member, and the funds are now on an indefinite hold for whatever reason. I can't ship the item until the funds are cleared, and i feel like an **** for it. To make matters worse, these **** don't seem to want to help.

Screw them. Money orders from now on.

Dear XXXXXXXXX

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

Hello, my name is Alma. I am sorry to hear about the situation regarding
case ID # XXXXXXXXX, and understand your frustration and concern
over this issue. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience on your
part. I have carefully reviewed your account and I am happy to assist
you.

PayPal placed a temporary hold on this transaction because we received a
notification that the funds might be fraudulent. While the transaction
is in temporary hold, neither the seller nor the buyer can access the
money.

If PayPal receives this type of notification, we are obliged to
investigate the transaction in question further.

You will be contacted by email if we require further information in
relation to this transaction.

If you have any further questions, please reply to this email.

Sincerely,
Alma

They suck for sellers, and are great for buyers. I send money as a gift to people I trust. No PP fees, and no holds. If you are the buyer and you send this way you are not covered.

Send Alma a note back and ask her if she will kiss you, because you like to be kissed when you are having sex.

I already sent her a not so nice reply.
What sort of notification did you receive that the funds might be fraudulent, and from whom?

In essence, you are now holding funds that don't belong to you. How soon will this be resolved? I promised the seller that i would ship the day that funds were sent, and you are causing both of us damage to our buying/selling reputations.

Also, please inform me how to completely close my paypal account. After this transaction, i will no longer be using these services, as it is bad business practice it seems. I will stick to federally insured money orders, where you actually recieve money when you receive it.

I don't know how true the second paragraph is, and i don't care. I just want to get under her skin enough that she'll take care of it, like... yesterday.

The funds are only on hold because the buyer went a certain length of time without using their account. I absolutely see why after this bs.

I had this happen to me once also and it does suck, the buyer will have to prove that he/she actually did authorize this transaction. sometimes it can be done with a simple phone call other times they make the buyer send in his whole life history to prove that he is indeed the owner of the paypal account, rent or morgtage payment receipts, copys of his/her drivers license and social security card, proof of bank account etc.

the last time I dealt with paypal, they wanted me to do some BS with my bank regarding random deposits. I ended up going with a Greendot moneypak, and if I ever have to deal with them again, I'll go that way.

I'd prefer not to e-mail cash as a gift, but I'm not dealing with paypal accounts anymore.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

I've never had any buying or selling issue, but recently I had the 'Pending' for over two weeks, so no funds either. I have a signature receipt from two weeks ago for fraks sake. I certainly won't be sending them any additional personal information, they can suck it.

If its an ebay sale that they are holding once the buyer leaves positive feedback your funds will be released or 21 days whichever comes first.

Also you used to be able to refund a small amount like 50 cents to the buyer and then the funds would be released also not sure if thats still an option or if ebay closed that loophole.

As someone said...paypal sucks. I do not have a paypal account and do not plan on getting one. If I can't pay for it with a credit card or check...I don't need it.

Just a FYI don't be mean to the paypal reps, they are not the ones that make the rules their just doing their job. If that's not incentive then remember that they can and will close your account with the money still on hold, apparently its in the fine print that you sign when you first sign up.

They will eventually release the funds, and they may force you to make a leap of faith by shipping the item to clear the funds. I had to give the tracking # for a item I sold on Audiogon once because it "wasn't ebay" and therefore was deemed as potentially fraudulent. Jumping through their hoops is the best way to get your money back, no matter how infuriating it may be.

They took over $300 out of my bank account on Monday. I have not had access to this, I have not been informed of where in the 'process' they are. I have not been told when my money will go through. I only know that I am out a lot of money, and can only hope that it reaches its destination.

    I do not like this.
