Did it come with another box or is it just a long slender speaker?....with binding posts on the center, rear, of the unit? Adam,
The Surround Bar SDA Instant home theater has the ability to learn the commands from your current remote control. However the logitech harmony line of remotes do not come programed with ir data pre programmed in. There is a way around this though... We have to "trick" the harmony into thinking it will be controlling an AV receiver.
1. Download the device IR data into your harmony remote using the Harmony software on your PC/Mac.
2. When it comes time to select a model of a device choose "AV receiver" and the model "vsx-1018ah" (this is a random pioneer receiver model however it will work for our purposes)
3. In the logitech harmony software make sure to set it so that the volume is always controlled from "AV receiver"
4. Finish updating your remote and move on to step 5
5. Now select "devices" on the logitech harmony remote
6. Then select "vxs-1018ah"
7. Next following the direction for the SurroundBar SDA IHT place it into it remote learning mode for the volume up command.
8. once you see the solid orange light on the top of the bar immediately start to steadily tap the volume up command on the harmony remote control until the light on the surround bar flashes green. (if light flashes red then repeat steps 7 and 8)
9. once you have seen the light flash green repeat steps 7 and 8 for volume down, mute and power on the surround bar.
