SDA surround bar echo/distortion

Just got a SDA surround bar. On some channels, about 30%, I hear a distortion: the sound is distant, constricted and has a faint echo, nothing like on other channels where the sound is full. Often this happens on the news, talk shows, but also other types of sources.

    My guess would be it is settings on your receiver. If the original material is recorded in stereo and you are listening in surround modes this can happen if the speaker settings for time/and or distance are not set right. Also some dsp settings add a bit of echo to simulate the surround effect. I believe the speaker distance should be the same for all channels on the receiver I could be wrong. Take a look in the owners manual for the surround bar. Then for your receiver for setup instructions. Which surround bar do you have?
