I like how in the OP's link the dude says "If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW." Yeah, there's no global warming, so it's ok to keep polluting our planet. Crap, lets increase acid rain, I though acid washed jeans were cool back in the day, crap, lets just acid wash every thing. Oh no droughts, hey look I believe parts of Europe have some severe flooding right now, water displacement, nah. Did you know they think during the time of the Vikings there was a mini ice age, and that's what took them out. Could be don't know fo sho. Global warming or not we need to stop feeding the middle east our money. Green is good. Oh yeah, and with in the next 5 to 10 years Nashville is going to be swallowed up. You watch and see. Then you can all tell me I am the supreme oracle.

Based on the hysteria surrounding this subject, I'd classify it as RELIGIOUS:p

I have nothing against trying to create a cleaner environment, BUT, I do have a problem with irrational behavior regarding that objective;)

And as far as stop sending our $$$ overseas, we addressed that scenario LAST YEAR: "Drill her, drill now!"

I think It should be Drill nowhere now. Petroleum is nasty. Not good for the environment at all. 1 drop of oil can pollute 100,000 gallons of water. And to think people just dump it into the ground(even though you are not supposed to)which then leaches into our water supplies. Everything we are seeing could be a precursor to a polar shift, we don't know. Yeah, we have been around for quite a while, and modern science even less than us. How long do we estimate the Earth has been around? I just don't think we have a big enough sample to predict what is happening let alone what will happen. I'm not trying to argue just saying there is a ton that we don't know about the planet, and I'm not even talking about under the oceans. And there are way to many variables to take into account. We are just modeling off of the stuff we know, and we think we know every thing. I really think that is far from the truth, crap, how much do we know about space, and what out there, and the effects it has on our planet.

Petrolium may not be the cleanest crap in the world, but it is far better than some of the so-called "green" equivalents. E-85, for example, is more harmful than the emissions from a P-ZEV certified Subaru Outback.

I really think that is far from the truth, crap, how much do we know about space, and what out there, and the effects it has on our planet...

Perhaps we should send Al Gore and his nut-job Cronies to examine this phenomena. Maybe we could send him into the Sun for a close-up look into what really causes Global Warming.;)

When I was a kid would usually would have about a 6 inches of snow on the ground with peaks of about a foot or so. The last couple of years that has a little more than doubled. The winters have also been colder. Summer we average about 63 day over 80 in the summer. This summer we only had 27. So it's hard to say what is actually happening. I'm not saying that we are not having a global warming issue, but are sure we this global warming, and not just the normal cycles of the earth? I know we have ice cores, earth cores, and sea bed core that are studied to try and figure it out. From what I have seen the only thing we know for sure is that the earth has been through many cycles of hot and cold and lulls in between.

    ROFL!

the single biggest threat to our planet. something out there which threatens our very existence and may be the end to the human race as we know it. i'm talking of course, about... "manbearpig." it is a creature which roams the earth alone. it is half man, half bear, and half pig! some people say that manbearpig isn't real. well, i'm here to tell you now, manbearpig is very real, and he most certainly exists!

I second that, but there are still those who think weather patterns should stay the same, always. Really?? Since when? To some, weather patterns are what exists in the memory of their short life. There are patterns that change over hundreds even thousands of years. You either adapt,or die.

I can't believe this is even a topic of discussion on an audio forum but since it is, and I happen to like this forum, I'm going to weigh in.

It's not really about the effing temp changes, it's about NOT destroying what precious little resources there are left to go around in a world who's population is exploding. WTFU. This isn't about you, it's about your grandchildren, their grandchildren and the world we leave to them.

My guess is this: the people that think this is some kind of "left-wing" conspiracy are the same folks who believe the rapture is near. Or perhaps they don't have kids... or they are just self-centered ****.
In any case, those of us that aren't going to be rescued by the apocalypse are going to move forward with the intention of trying to preserve the only planet we have in hopes that future generations have a chance for the kind of prosperity we have enjoyed for ourselves.

I don't have any complaints about curbing pollution or conserving the earth's resources. My beef is with these scubbag politicians or former politicians who are trying to ram the green and warming stuff down our throats.

They claim to be for the earth; but in reallity, they are passing legislation and then investing heavily in natural gas and carbon credits meerly to enhance their wealth. All the while claiming to be for the "little man". Pure BS.
