Monster Powerbar 1100 ???

I'm currently using a Monster Powerbar 1100 with my HT set up that I bought quite some time ago. Judging by the comments on this forum, Monster doesn't seem to have a very good reputation. I'm assuming an APC H10 or H15 or Panamax 5100 will provide more protection, but will there any difference in video or audio quality? Is it worth the money to upgrade? Thanks

    I personally owned a Panamax 5100 Max and loved it. Cleared up a ground loop issue I had, kept my components safe and it cleaned up some 'hiss' noise I was experiencing on my digital cable. Ran the coaxial from the wall to the p.conditioner, then out to the digital cable box and tuned to channels that had background static/hiss and sure enough it was all gone.

    I use an avs2000 & hts5100 tandem and think it's great! Really cleaned thing's up for me seeing as i live in a building....

    I purchased both unit's used at a great price and one (hts5100) ended up being faulty :( I sent an email to Monster asking how/where to go about fixing it and they sent me out a BRAND NEW in box replacement! TOTALLY free, no shipping cost's! Nothing! Now that is CUSTOMER SERVICE ;)

    The good people @ Vann's have the APC H10 in black for $174.00 including shipping. That's all you need, brother.

    Some of the Surge/ line conditioner will change the SQ of your system either way ( better or worse depedning on your taste). The APC H10 won't change nada to the SQ of my gear that's what I want.

    So is it worth it to upgrade from the Powerbar 1100 to something else or is the Powerbar doing a similar job as the APC, Panamax, etc???

    The H10 does actually affect the sound.... But it's certainly not in a bad way. It filtered out a bunch of noise in my case.

    You can usually find it for $100 if you keep an eye on sales. Otherwise, the Vann's price isn't too bad. I paid $90-something for mine.

    The powerbar... i'm not real familiar with. If you're happy with it, keep it. I think it's just a surge protector, right? Or does it condition as well?
