    IF Billy punted, probably the worst the Colts would have been would have been around the their own 20 (assuming a 50 yd kick and no runback) with 2:00 and 2 time outs.

    Granted it would have been much tougher...but to say Manning could not have gotten 70 yards is silly. The Pats defense was gassed. This is why I think Belichick tried for the first down. He thought that either way if the Colts got the ball, they would score. Only keeping possession locked up the win and he thought they could get the 2 yards.

    Did you read my post? I didn't say he couldn't. I said he struggled. There's a difference. His 70+ yard drives didn't come until the 4th quarter anyway.
