Week 10 in the NFL...what a week!

I didn't get to see any of the Dallas game and was quite pissed off seeing the suck-**** score. Finally got a chance to read the recap and now it's a different story. While Green Bay's D played very well it seems, most of the action didn't happen until the 4th quarter and that seems to be because the previous drive, Dallas lost 4 defensive backs to injury. No wonder the secondary started playing like crap. That and Dallas robbed themselves of two touchdowns in the first half because of stupid penalties. I thought Romo was going to be to blame but he had a pretty good game. Just couldn't get past a highly rated defense that has performed well below sub-par for the year. Where was Green Bay's defense against the Vikings? They never would have won that game against GB if GB played like that. Anyway, disappointing loss but Dallas isn't out of it yet and now GB has a chance to get back in it too.

Speaking of out of it though, Westbrook is done. I did get to watch...well, wasn't paying that much attention but I saw the Sandy Eggo and Philadelphia Pheebles game. Philly played well on offense but defense, what happened? Sandy Eggo was the same way. Stellar performance on offense but defense let the Pheebles waltz up and down the field gaining insane amounts of yardage. But the real sad part is Westbrook. I'm thinking he's done and not just for the next few weeks. I'm thinking career. This kind of injury is what put Troy Aikmen out for good as well as many other stars of the game. It sucks but I think Westbrook has to even look at this decision but he's already hurt. He needs to think of his future. I said a long time ago that he's going to be a Barry Sanders. One of the best ever at the position to never get a ring and I think he's getting robbed because of it. I hate that it might actually come to that too. It's also clear that the Pheebles are nothing without him and they should change their name to the Philadelphia Westbrook.

I saw the first 2 quarters of the Lions/Vikings game and then I had to go clean gutters. I don't care what anybody says, the Lions got beat but that first half and apparently most of the 3rd quarter, the Lions went toe to toe with a very good football team and they didn't implode, they didn't screw up and they never gave up. They get better each week. That is going to be a team to watch next year.

I saw Cincinnati beat Pittsburgh and I was a little surprised at that. But I didn't see the whole game only the last 6 or so minutes. But the Bengals look like they finally got their act together.

The one game I did watch was Pats vs. Colts and I do not know what the hell Belichick was thinking. He had the Colts beat and he basically handed them the game on that 4th and 2. He should have punted and pinned the Colts against the goal line. Instead, he handed the ball over at the 29 yard line in their own territory. Manning struggled to get the Colts 70+ yards the whole game. But 29 yards? Manning, the comeback king, you just don't give him that kind of opportunity because he'll burn you damn near every time. It didn't blow that Pats season but it could end up hurting in the playoffs.

So how'd your team do?

Who Dey!! The Bengals and Steelers offense both looked horrible, but that's because they were playing two top notch defenses. Steelers special teams play is poor at best, but if they can get that turned around, that team is still good enough to beat anyone. Bengals control the AFC North now with three "gimmies" upcoming, I just hope they don't look at those games as gimmies because a loss to Oakland, CLeveland, or Detroit would look really bad.

I guess I see Belichick's rationale but he was dead wrong.

Essentially he thought the same thing a lot of people do - you give Manning the ball that late in the game, he's gonna drive down field and score. So rather than definitely give him the ball with a punt, he opted to try to NOT give up the ball. If he were past midfield I would have MAYBE even agreed with him, but where he was on the field? Not a freakin' chance! Way too big of a risk. Absolutely insane call by him.

    Exciting game nonetheless.

Sorry, I don't agree. I think Favre and Vikings have had a cake schedule and that's why they are doing so well.

so long as they find a way to win is all I care.
Going into this one, I told a friend of mine I was going with the Lions on this one because they have been playing better football, and The Vikings have a way of playing down to their opponents. I love my Purple people eaters, but they need to start playing everybody as if their season rests upon it. Playing down to an opponent does nothing but set you up for disaster.

The Saints are my pick to go all the way this year. I think the Vikings are done in the second round of the playoffs unless they can find a way to stay focused for a full 60 minutes.

that's fine...but the Vikings put up about 40 at Lambeau and moved the ball at will almost all game..if not for a stupid play on a kickoff, that game wasn't even close.

But yeah..other than playing at Pittsburgh, their schedule has been easy...so has New Orleans..and they have the easiest schedule left in the NFL..

plus Dallas hasn't had the toughest schedule either..

in fact there really aren't any great teams in the NFC this year except maybe New Orleans...and I'm still not convinced they will come through in a tough playoff game against a tough opponent who smashes them in the mouth a little

DA.......Bears are done dis year my friend. Cutler needs to settle down and focus on gelling with the rest of the offense. I hope they go after O-Linemen and cornerbacks this offseason. My only hope is they beat the Pack and Vikings 2xs to salvage this season. Go Bears...

I did not say that Dallas had a hard schedule. You stated that the Vikings have a better offense and I disagree. I think they are about even. If all cylinders are firing for both teams, I give the edge to Dallas because they have more weapons in the passing game and I think that offsets Adrian Petersen's stellar running game. Especially since Dallas has a brutal running game as well with 3 different running backs to stay fresh and healthy for running routes.

But honestly, right now, with the implosion of the Giants and the pending implosion of Eagles along with the Redskins gross underachievement, it seems that Dallas has a cake schedule. But with more than half the games in the bag, Dallas has run through all of those opponents at least once except the Redskins, when all of them were playing well. They beat 6 of them and lost to 3. The Vikings on the other hand. The schedule they have was made up of teams that were widely regarded to be crap before the season started and those teams have only played marginally better than expected. The only teams they played so far that are worth anything were the Ravens and the Steelers. They barely beat the Ravens and the Steelers hammered them for a loss.

The Cowboys on the other hand have played the Giants who, at the time, were unstoppable, the Falcons who are quite impressive and performing well beyond expectations, Denver who was at the top of the AFC for a while, Philadelphia who shares top honors in the NFC East with Dallas, Carolina which arguably has the depth to hand anyone a loss but lack consistency 'cause of Delhomme and Green Bay which is on fire this past week defensively and has, from the start of the season, serious playoff potential. Dallas lost to 3 teams that are quite good. The Giants, Broncos and Packers gave Dallas their 3 losses. The Giants and Broncos are arguably a better team. The Packers are probably slightly worse but still dangerous. Add to that Dallas still has to go through the Redskins at home and on the road and that is a bitter rivalry that doesn't really matter how good either team is doing. Plus they have New Orleans, the Giants again, the Eagles again and San Diego. The only cake week that they have left is Oakland. But then again, knowing the Cowboys, they'll choke on the easy stuff and totally blow it.

The Vikings haven't hit the meat of their schedule yet and I think they are in for a rude awakening because Favre will be beat up when he has to face his most punishing opponents in the Bengals, the Giants, Carolina and the Bears defense (the Bears offense is poo). Add to that the threat that is Arizona and Kurt Warner being able to outscore the Vikings.

They should have an easy win against the Seahawks next week and then it gets real, folks.

I saw that Cowboy game and Roy Williams is killing us. He dropped a bomb right in his hands and then catches another bomb only to fumble it. The refs did there part to make bad calls and Jason Garrett decided the Cowboys should only run the ball 14 times. At the end of the 3rd quarter the Packers time of possession was 31 minutes. The defense played there tail off keeping us in the game. Only silver lining for us Cowboys fans is that the Eagles lost and were still in first.

I'm a Bronco fan. Not sure what the heck was going on there though. Loss of Kyle Orton in the 2nd quarter killed us. Don't get me wrong, I like Chris Simms but the reality is that guy has not had a meaningful snap since 2006. His end zone pick was the death blow.

Wow, what a game with the Colts and Pats last night!

Initially I thought the Colts didn't have much of a chance going in because their defense is so banged up, but then I heard the guys talking about the same thing with the Patriots before the game and that gave me more confidence in my team.

Then the Pats go up 24-7, turns out the Pats defense wasn't as banged up as I thought, or at least they did a better job of compensating for it.

I remember saying on here a week or so ago that we'll find out alot about the Colts when they play the Patriots, and we did last night. They're exciting to watch, because there's always a good chance of the comeback - most teams down like that don't come back to win the game, but you never know with them. It makes it rough on the fingernails if you're really into the game, but it's worth it.

The Colts still have alot of work to do though, you simply cannot continue to win by squeaking out of every single game, you just can't sustain that level of emotion all year long.

I don't know about the call last night, but I also think people are blowing it waaaayyyy out of proportion. Peyton just walked down the field on your defense, your guys are worn out because you only play a team like the Colts once a year, you've got Tom Brady back there - you have to believe that your offense is capable of picking up a yard, and if they do the game's over. Even if you do punt the ball there's still a good chance that Peyton is going to walk them down the field again. I suppose we'll never know, but my gut says even if they have to go 80 yards, they've got plenty of time left, they're still gonna score on you - apparently Bellechick had the same feeling.

Are you sure you watched this game?

    4th Qtr - 79 yards in 5 plays - 1:59 off the clock
    4th Qtr - 79 yards in 6 plays - 1:44 off the clock

IF Billy punted, probably the worst the Colts would have been would have been around the their own 20 (assuming a 50 yd kick and no runback) with 2:00 and 2 time outs.

Granted it would have been much tougher...but to say Manning could not have gotten 70 yards is silly. The Pats defense was gassed. This is why I think Belichick tried for the first down. He thought that either way if the Colts got the ball, they would score. Only keeping possession locked up the win and he thought they could get the 2 yards.

SNF was a nice game. Good defensive game against pretty potent offense's. It's always a treat to watch 2 very good professional quarter backs in the same game.Obviously , that game could have gone either way.

DALLAS on the other hand, has, IMO, so much talent that is not being used right. How can you have 3 capable running backs & not win time of possession ??? Our offense cannot seem to handle the blitz very well at all.Wanna mess Romo up ?? Just blitz every down & he can't seem to figure it out.The play where he got blindsided & fumbled , he should have known that was coming by the safeties that started to "cheat" over to the right side to help in coverage. It's being done to us time & time again.I know it's not all Romo's fault but teams are not gonna let up with blitzing until he makes them pay with some big yardage down the field CONSISTENTLY................

We have got to be able to RUN the ball for christ sake.......Please can someone start blocking

And what the hell is going on with Whitten this year ??? Is he playing injured??? Looks like he's running barefoot on glass.... He hasn't been very effective this year or at least not AS effective as in past couple of years.....
