One of my friends is looking at a pair of tower speakers. The Definitive Technology Mythos STS Super Towers. I've read a few reviews - pretty favorable too. I just wanted to check with the Polkies to see if anyone knows anything about them or had any opinions?

Tell your friend to stop looking at them and start listening to them. ;)

Seriously though, the STS are good speakers, no question. But selecting speakers are largely a subjective issue. Go with your friend and take along some favorite movies or music to audition the speakers with. Then compare it to other speakers.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I own the big brothers ST. The STS is a fantastic speaker. It's very musical but powerful home theater speaker. I think they are one of the best double duty speakers I have ever owned/ heard for there price class. They got Audio product of the year from Sound and Vision last year.
They are a must listen. Where do you guys live? You are welcome to come hear them at our shop. We have em set up with a Pioneer Elite SC-25 , Panasonic 60 inch plasma and a Pioneer Elite Blur ray. Bring your ipod.

I really want to take you up on that offer! Thanks! We are located in the Midwest. Kind of all over right now. Illinois/Iowa region. That's good to hear that everyone here is liking them so far. Do you have to plug them into the wall outlet for the subs? I want to say yes, but I could not see a power inlet/outlet/whatever in the pictures, on the speakers.
