Holy crap I scrolled down and saw my dad's old trans am.....same paint scheme and everything (except years older lol). I don't see glass T-tops though, wonder if that's an option.

Sorry but that thing is ugly. The gold wheels remind me of wheels of a ford escort, and the other wheels remind me of the ones on my dads element. Also from the side reminds me of a ford mustang. Very ugly not feeling it at all.

Not to sure what I think. There have been alot of cars that I thought were ugly at first but grew on me. I loved the original TransAm

The original '79 Trans Am with a Pontiac 400 and four-wheel disc brakes, manual four speed was a killer machine.....

When I saw this pic I too was reminded of the original. My cousin showed up in the above mentioned '79 in black but he put on Centerline wheels, BF Goodrich wide meats all around with the Firebird decal removed. What an F-in car that was......

You youngsters simply can't understand what they were back then. Imagine your most bad ****, killer machine today (production model) and this was it.....

Cops used to pull us over just to check it out and tell us they wanted one just like it. Not to mention the chick magnetism factor...

Good times for a couple of 17 year old kids....

The new one looks pretty cool to me. ****..... I'm getting old...

I could've scored one of these in all silver back when I lived in CA but I was too much into the sportbike scene.

My favorite paint scheme though, dad owned one of these before he got his firebird.

1979 was not the original, but the 76 with the super duty 455 was bad **** too. Man,I could retire if I still had half the cars I had back then.

That's because those new T/As ARE Cameros. I think the articles I read on them were at Car and Driver.

Back in late 78 I bought an almost new red 78 Firebird. That was a fun car, and I'd love to have another for the nostalgia value.

One of those might be ok though. And as far as it looking like a Camaro, they've always looked like Camaro's.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Pontiac's styling for the past decade seems to be aimed at 13-year olds. Just ridiculously molded plastic looking junk.

My big question is why are they even releasing a car - I thought Pontiac was kaput?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Not quite, the only model available for 2010 is the Vibe. Then it's all over in 2011.

Never figure GM out, my Uncle's have a Pontiac dealership, they tell me that the G6 was the best selling Pontiac they had, far outselling the Vibe. Apparaently GM doesn't want to make money.

The GTO is not built by Pontiac. It's a custom job by John Linkfinger. He builds custom engines, drive trains, whaterver for GM cars and is privately owned. The GTO is a custom build to get some interest going.

I think that a new TransAm concept could've done a lot more than what they did.
That thing looks swollen and unoriginal. There is no reason that it couldn't have been streamlined and cleaned up. It is an uninspired design with overworked details.

As far as all these hotrods looking the same, at least the Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang all keep similar styling profiles to their yesteryear counterparts; but this damn thing is flatter, fatter and uglier than any TransAm out there, nothing modern or amazing about it.

If they wanted to make this work, they should've stepped back and said, "With current technology available, what would the original designers of the TransAm do now that they couldn't do then?"
