I have owned the KEF Sattelite Speaker system together with the PSW2010 subwoofer for a few years and have really enjoyed the sound it produces.
The other day i noticed no bass. I checked the back of the sub and noticed the RCA lead in the back had been broken off at the connector plug, the plug was still plugged in but the cable was laying on the floor.
I have no idea how this happened, however it 'may' have been my dog that chewed it off, but i don't know why he went to the hassle of doing it the connector/plug end of the cable....
Anyway, i purchased a new cable yesterday, plugged it in and nothing, the power light didn't even come on. I noticed a small fuse cupboard on the back of the amp near the power cord input connector, so removed the fuse, it was blown, put a new one in (it has a spare inside and was identical) and as soon as i switched it on within 1-2 seconds it blew......
I've just phoned Keff and asked them their advise. The unit was also switched over to 115V instead of 230V - i live in the UK but the guy at KEF said this could have blown the amp??
Wouldn't the fuse have protected it? The guy at KEFF didn't think so.....?

Some good news!
Got home tonight, fitted a new fuse, turned the power rating over to 230V and the sub works perfectly, not blowing, the down firing base speaker is pumping and it sounds perfect!
Thanks GOD! -
