PSW10 Constant Hum

Hello all Polk Club members. I am reaching out to you for some assistance with my home theater setup. I have a PSW10 connected to a ONKYO TX-SR606 7.1 Receiver via the PreOut connection. About a month ago I decided to take advantage of the prewired RG6 cable that my media room was prewired with and connect the sub/receiver using this.

So what I have not is Receiver -> RCA -> Wall Outlet -> RG6 -> F-Connector/RCA converter -> RCA -> Y-Connector ->Sub.

Whenever I have the sub connected directly to the receiver (RCA cord) no hum. Then when I use the RG6, hum. I can turn the hum up via the volume control on the sub. I have looked around and see that some suggest that it might be interference via the cords/grounding. I don't believe this to be issue, since the sub is connected to a power strip and is the only customer on it.

Any help would be a appreciated and if you can help me remedy the situation, you are more than welcome to come over and watch Dark Night to break in my new configuration.

Thank you.

    Got my own fix...I connected the RG6 incorrectly. First I used screw on connectors, and there was no signal. Then tried direct connecting without a connector = constant hum. Went to HD and got a RG6 cable connector set and did the crimp on connectors. Worked flawlessly...

    Moral of the story, when DIY cable connections, do it how the pros do it and don't think you know a better way.
