I was going to comment on the thread called: "Speaker wire test" but that got out of control and that thread was closed. So to keep it short which speaker wire is the best bang for the buck for a 7.1 surround system?
I use Bluejeans 5000ue for speaker wire and Bluejeans LC1 for sub wire. Can I get the same performance for less money with RadioShack speaker wire? Another other companies have a better bang for the buck?

DV, it's a bit of a stretch to even use the term "performance" in reference to pieces of copper wire. Local sources of hardware such as Home Depot and Lowes have wire at somewhat lower cost which does this very simple job as well as anything. Among lower cost online sources is MonoPrice.
If you haven't studied the basic facts of speaker wiring as explained here by a veteran audio professional, it'd be of benefit to do so. Over the past few years this has helped many avoid the wire charlatans who pollute our hobby. -

I haven't spent much time with my wires, although I know I need to. Right now I just have some Rocketfish 14 or 16 AWG stuff that I upgraded my old HTIB wiring from and wow what a difference from that stock junk. I am waiting on a set of AQ Type 4's to audition (thanks to the great folks here at Club Polk, and AQ) so I am eagerly waiting on those to arrive so I can see what I have been missing.

I'm just using 12 awg "audoiphile" speaker wire (a buck a foot) stuff. I guess it's ok. Any suggestions on a reasonable penny pinchers upgrade? Four runs of 10 ft. each for bi-amping.

Those are good places to start...unless you're independently wealthy, it's a good idea to buy 'used' wire if you're going for better quality..most of us boys and girls can't afford that MIT stuff new and even used it ain't cheap! But it is 'cheaper'.
As for me...for now...I'm commiting the cardinal sin....I have some really old Monster 12 gauge that I use on the Adcom. When I'm able to afford to experiment with other cabling I will certainly experiment. I can say though that the old Monster is definitely better than brand X...

I wouldn't call MIT's product 'cables' either. With a big box containing a LCR network sitting in the middle I think they are entirely something else. -
