Very good find. The tweeters alone are worth the $35. You use 1 amp fast blows on the tops, and 2 amp fuses on the bottom IIRC. They appear to be 5's with the 8" passive radiator. Year would be roughly determined by pulling the middle driver out.

Usually they would say MW6500 and a year. Like you said they must be old. The grill attachment setup would indicate an older model also.

you can try,I think the peerless and sl2000's are interchangeable. you might wait for a second opinion. I just put some RDO 194's in my rta 11t's and they sound great.

the peerless would need an extra resistor.
Take a look at your(the Model 5's) xover and compare to a reg Mon 5 wiring diagram.
I know in the Mon 7's it is around 6.2 ohm.
IDK what it would be in a RTA 11, since there is not a "Peerless" version of those.

I have not personally compared the Peerless to other tweets yet, but 'I have read' that the RDO's are still better....bu the Peerless would definately be a step up from the SL2000's....

    great find... :)

They aren't interchangeable with the sl2000. The x-over is different. The RD0 is slightly larger than the peerless so some wood working with a dremel on the tweeter opening would be nec on the Monitor 5's.

As far as the 11T, just get the RD0194-1 if you have sl2000's and are looking for replacement tweeter that sounds a thousand times better.

Also, the Monitor 5 (Peerless) XO's vary. While some have the 6.2 ohm, mine have 2.5 ohm (built in 1983). I have been working with Polk CS to try to figure which would be better.

Yes, very early Monitor 5's as evidenced by the drivers, cabinet, grill attaching method and double fuses.

I love how thick the top, bottom and sides of the cabinet are. My Monitor 5A's are rock solid but they are not that thick.
