I do agree to a point, but on some of the superspeedways the cars can hit over 210mph. at these speeds the cars are a lot less stable and wrecks are going to be more frequent. Bobby Allisons wreck in 1987 at Talledaga started the restrictor plate erra. no one likes restrictor plates but it makes teams utilize other things such as pit stadegy, fuel, and drafting into their gameplan. at 180 mph these cars are just as impresive in person, tv does it no justice

I mainly use OTA TV. I can pull in all the HD digital stations from across the lake 30 miles away with an attic antenna. I thought that was a better way to deal with tropical storm level winds.
I use the cost savings from cable to either rent or buy the movies I want to see.
I still retain my $21 per month basic cable, mainly to watch ESPN and a few other stations and as a backup during heavy rain when the OTA signal fades on rare occassion.
At any rate, I get all the college and NFL football that I want to see on Saturdays and Sundays for free.

I guess the closest track for you would be talledaga or daytona. Both awesome places. Closest track to me is michigan, about a 3hr hike. I go every year. Do you get true hd with ota tv?

I guess it's just me, but I really don't see the appeal in watching cars go in a circle for 4 or so hours.

Go to Talladega. It is most awesome and the people watching is second to none.

Dallas has Texas Motor Speedway which is also a fine facility and not too far away.

NASCAR rules my HDTV when there is a race on. It is by far my favorite sport to watch on my tv. But there is nothing quite like being AT a race.
