I have two Wyred4Sound Stereo Amps, one for each speaker. Each amp has two independent D-class amps within. I got 500 watts for the subs and 250 watts for the mids and highs.

Are these custom built unit's or?? they sound like they are monster's! :D

Thank's for the link Jim :)

Kinda, custom. The amps are not true stereo amps because one channel outputs 500 and another outputs 250. I had Wyred4Sound configure them this way so I could place one amp by each speaker conveniently.

They are just the stock versions of the ST-250 and ST-500 mixed together.

Here's a link. They're Class D amps. They sound amazing. I have a review in this months Affordable$$Audio discussing their preamp which is also very good.

hey squall, followed you over to this thread to read about your 2.3's. i just ordered my pair from wally and should have them in about 2 weeks. you don't have the DBX with yours do you? wally said they should be out in a few months - they're listed on the EP website now.

Haha . . . I do have a DBX. The first one ever too. Clayton and I had a special arrangement that made it possible for me to have one before everyone else. He had to make some additional tweaks on it recently. I'll have it back at my place in a few days.

Hey Mike like your 2.3s. I am a 2.0 owner. Would like to try and convert my 2.0 to 2.3 and have all the info I need except for passive cross on the coax. I can build a 3rd order butterworth but would be interested to know exactly what Clayton has used. Would it be possible to tell me the values of the caps and inductors used as well as the brand? Maybe a closeup pic? I totaly understand if ya don't want to be taking things apart to get to the crossover. Thanks.

That is a negative. I'm tight with Clayton Shaw, the original designer, and Walter Liederman, the current owner of Emerald Physics. I apologize, but I've been asked this before and Walter appreciates respect for their designs. Welcome to Club Polk.

I finally got my ears on some CS2's today. I met a new local audiophile and went to his house to hear his set up. We listened to it with my Pass Labs X150.5 on the lows and a 6 watt SET tube amp for the highs, modded Behringer, modded (with tube) Denon 2910 and a PS Audio power regenerator.

It sounded Awesome! The speakers totally disappeared. We listened to Morph the cat and I was blown away with how palpable the bass line was. Fun speakers!

Yup, the ol' CS2s are still one of my most favorite speakers. But, you should hear a CS2.3 using Clayton's Spatial Computer system.
