LSI25 thumping

Has anyone else had a problem with theirs? About 2 weeks ago the subwoofer in one of my LSI's started thumping like crazy. Unfortunately I was away and the cops had to come to knock down my door to turn them off! I've talked to a number of people about it. Some say it's the wiring (which it's not), and some believe it could be the sub amplifier. I was wondering if any of you have come across this problem, and if you've been able to resolve it.

It's probably the sub amp. A blown transistor might cause a "motorboating" type response. I'm sure it's covered under warranty.
