What in the world did they do to these speakers? And they say "good condition cosmetically". They look like they were used for road gear.

Still is probably a good deal.

If they sell low enough it'll be worth putting $600-$700 at most into redoing the cabinets. Just a thought.

I also don't believe for a minute all the drivers work, etc. SRT drivers are not available anymore so if even 1 driver has an issue that's a real PITA.

It seems to me that if those drivers aren't produced anymore.....they should be lovingly preserved so that they can be used to get other, prettier sets of SRTs back up and running! You don't crush classic automobiles too do you?

I would not touch those. Look at the ripple marks near the center caps.
Those drivers are fubar or circling the drain. Drivers are hard to come by these days let alone accessories like grills and feet.

they also appear to be in an electronics repair shop of some kind based upon the backround in the pictures. My guess is they were taken in for repair and abandoned...

Wow, wish I was closer, just to go listen to them.
    $106.49 & $100 shipping & $100 re-veneer

Or gut them...even if half are toast that still 16/2=8 MW's plus tweets, subs and amps if they are working.
Are the MW5804 & MW5805 not in demand anymore/ not used in any other speakers?

I came close to buying a set of SRT's once, but after learning that drivers are no longer available, and in this case, no controller, I'd pass for sure. I have never seen such abused "art" in my life. Probably in a pawn shop.

Interesting, but what is the real price for these all things considered? 2-300 bucks?

Could part them out. I've seen other folks on EB parting out vintage Polks. There is a nice pair of Monitor 5 cabinets and all the other parts to complete them. It is a shame but if you are maximizing the money ...

If the guy up in LA still had the incomplete set for sale, I might consider these, combine the two sets and just using what was working. Still would need a controller though. I've been wanting a pair of these so I might just take the plunge if they stay cheap enough. They look terrible but I don't see the same issues with the drivers others are pointing out.

The mid drivers are pretty sturdy in regards to magnets shifting. After the damage sustained to mine in transit i had damaged drivers (one bass with a shifted magnet). The mids, bar being peirced had no issues, even the pierced ones still played...
Cosmetic condition, that's easily fixed with a bit of sanding, and some two-pac metallic black paint. I think mine now look a lot better than the original finish. It's certainly more satisfying knowing that i poured so much into them....
In terms of audio, i truly feel sorry for the visually impaired. How can they know what they like if they cant read google?
