Help with Center and Rears
I'm currently looking to move finally and will have a chance to have a dedicated room for movies and gaming.
I have a pioneer 1018 Receiver with a pair of Cherry R50's. I'm looking for a set of rears and center speaker to complete this system. Budget is tight, but I want it sounds nice. The room is 16x11. Let me know what you all would suggest! Hope to hear from you soon, and thanks in advance!

what about the CS10 as center? And is there much difference in quality between the M40's and M30s?
-
CS 10 would work as well. That is part of the current TSi series that replaced the monitor series... so the CS1 and CS 2 would match the monitor bookshelfs but the CS 10 and 20 would work as well and should match fairly well, I have the CS1 and I like it but there will be quite a few who like the CS 2 better and they're probably right as its a nicer speaker.. but i haven't heard it. I haven't picked up my rears yet for my system, so i don't know, but I've hard the 40s sound a lot better than the 30sMain 2ch -

Not sure what the center is that matches the R series (just cannot think of it right now) but you could just get another set of R50's in cherry for your rears. (only $69 each from frys)
I want to say the matching center is around $80, but I may be mistaken. If nothing else, you could always pick up a pair of R15's and use one of them as a center (and rear center if you want).
Just a thought.

your right X, the CSR is the matching center, although I would recommend against wasting your money on that center as your main source of movie entertainment. Much better to be had for less money when you buy used. I take timbre matching with a grain of salt when powering your system with an AVR. just my .02.Polk Audio Surround Bar 360

For a modest system, the Polk PSW10 for about $75-$80 works fine for music.
Two also work fine for music.
I've used them with my Monitor and R series bedroom systems.
When set up properly the PSW10 (especially 2) is a surprising performer for H/T as well. It will tend to get lost in rapid bass sequences though.Polk Audio Surround Bar 360
