I know some people would love to have this problem.. but with my SDA 2B's.. on a lot of music.. new or old there is to much bass. Bass that is I think over stated.

I run everything flat.. zero straight up on treble and bass.. so I'm not adding any bass that i can tell. music we all know needs a certain amount of bass.. but not to the point of it being the most apparent thing in music.

is the bass just dependent on the source and there is not much I can do about it? just have to live with it. I've tried different interconnects... on most music it isn't to bad.. but once in a while i'll be listening to a CD and it's all to bass heavy.

Have you tried moving them a little further away from the wall?

I was having a similar issue with my 2A's a while back. On a lot of recordings the bass would be kind of overwhelming, a bit boomy sounding. I moved them a couple inches farther out from the wall, and it cleaned up quite nicely.

Placement can make or break a speaker. I'm still pretty new to this whole audio hobby...but that's one of the first things I discovered.

i have moved them about two feet from the rear wall.. did decrease ever so slightly.. must just depend on the source.

I should look into getting spikes for them.. that may help control the boomy bass on some music.

I've considered spiking my 2A's...but I doubt it'll happen now. I've had them pulled out of my rig with the Monitor 7A's back in for a few weeks now...I don't picture the 2A's coming back in anytime real soon either.

The 7A's just sound a lot better to my ears. It could be due to room issues...but the 7's just sound a lot more natural to me.

FWIW, I was never real impressed with the bass from the 2A's. The bass output was there, but it just seemed kind of loose and unfocused a lot of the time. Playing around with placement gave me some improvements...but it's still not really doing it for me.

I'm considering putting the 2A's up for sale actually...but I'm not sure yet...

I noticed the 2B's have huge bass as well...that is why I love them in my H/T. Try some spikes...

I'd like to see your room. I'd like to see the distance you sit when you listen to them. There must be some room gain happening. That can be corrected but you have to run a test. Sweep the speakers and find the boom. I can give you all kinds of tips to fix them up but I need info first. Take some pic's. I wanna see a view from your listening position and then a shot from each speaker looking at the listening positon. I want to see behind the speakers each one. I wanna measurements. From the seating to the dead center of both speakers. I want the distance off the back and side wall. Measure everything.
Lets see if we can't fix this. If not it's time for new speakers bro. It's time to get out of the stone age and listen to some new hotness. But lets see if we can fix your room first.
