true dat.
Steve seriously, you made a pretty big jump in speaker here, you need to get used to what they sound like, establish a base line so to speak and then make one change at a time to see how it effects the entire system.

I needed to redoing the speaker mounts, as I had an issue when I got home with them. I placed the mount back on the speakers one with plastic things pulled out and the speaker "Started" to fell over it was easy fell due the fact the plastic things pulled out slower. If it fell it would have been hit the Rt150i speaker, due to the mount issue I needed to use a blanket to support the Amazing speaker between the Rt150i. So in the end the speakers wasn't in a nice place, and maybe too far for the wall.

I'm sick. I can't believe I touched those speakers in such an unclean way after Jerry did. Now I find out all you guys were naughty too. Those speakers came from many house's of ill repute:eek:Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Troy,
That wax you used was it hard or liquid? I was thinking about some hard car wax.
Others are not needed to reply as I think any "Wax" was a bit Hard then Liquid.

If your plats are black gloss color, I've heard they used the automotive black paint on it. You can use car wax but I wouldn't use the really hard wax on it.

The best my Plats have ever sounded is when they were driven by a pair of Bob's new design 180W tube monoblocks. I'm not sure how they would do on the originals, but the Plats love some glass in the system. I use 9t's for mine and the bass is unbelievable. For cleaning, use a mild solution of water and Dawn dish soap, then wax with 100% carnuba car or aircraft wax. Don't use a silicon based wax.

Carnuba wax all the way.

I use 4 - 9t's for my Plats. Sounds pretty good, I must say...
If I would change anything it might be putting some glass on the ribbons... -

And for the record don't own Carver 9t amps, I like them when I ever heard them, I like them. So I'm not knocking them at all. It's maybe not my cup of tea, so if I needed to buy something they are not in my top list.

The 9t's have bass boost in the amp if that is what bothered you about them, the 7t's don't have that bass boost.engtaz

I don't care for Carver amp designs. Nothing really wrong with them, as I fell in love with Amazing speakers while connected to one, so it's just a personally feeling.
Please if you own a Carver amp, don't take any offense none is given.

DJ,
What version of Plat did you get? I know this has quite a bit of Polk history and polk love and Ted smells.
As far as I know, the Amazing Original comes with Single Binding Post, the Plat has Dual Binding post and two fuses (for ribbon and for woofers) and the Plat MKIV with Single Binding Post with crossover knobs (pot). The upgrade Plat from Original may not have dual binding post if the XO has not been upgraded to Plat XO.
The Plat XO should have dual binding post and I am bi-amping my Plat. I also have Plat MKIV which has only one binding post so I can't bi-amp it. If your has Single Binding post only, no way you can bi-amp it.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
No problem Joe. I wanted to make sure that I pointed you to amps that were staple at 2 ohms. treitz3 pointed out that the ALS originals can drop to 1 ohm during transients. Good luck with your search on finding an amp that truly makes those speakers sing.engtaz

He's got the ORIGINAL Amazings....2 30" ribbons...pigs to drive.
I'm saying a BIG Classe amp...
