I am absolutely LOVING these Shure earphones. I will say that I wish the cord was a little more flexible....pliable maybe but it's definitly sturdy. The adapters and connections are very tight and the in-line volume control is a great idea.
The Sennheiser IE7 look pretty nice, would love to hear them.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I gotta say the triple-flanges are an elegant and simple way to eliminate the outside world. I was kinda shocked my Shures bought it as I've pretty well babied them. But now I'm contemplating franken-soldering the buds onto some other cables.
Comparing the two, they both deliver the kind of bass that vibrates your medulla oblongata, iykwim. Real bass. I prefer the cables of the Senns, the buds of the Shures since they really insert deep and snug, the Senns, not so much; and I don't know if your model Shures are engineered similar to the E*C line.
Both also have that broad tonal range blah-blah-blah ( insert hype here)
Talking out of school here, since I don't know how the audio engineers do it, or if they do it- it seems like my Shures were pitched right at Middle C, whereas the Senns were a 5th higher. This would be a clever cheat on Sennheiser's part, that makes them seem brighter to me.
I heard somewhere that everyone, people that is- are pitched tonally different on the scale, which makes us all have different preferences as a result....but again, maybe that's just metaphysical gossip.;) -
Good call. I've had a pair of e3c's since 2004. I'll never buy another pair of earbuds again (unless these break, but I've taken them on dozens of flights, through 2 war zones, and various continents without any problems)
