Oppo for me too!Expect me when you see me !!
Good judgment comes from experience, but experience usually comes from bad judgment.
The best thing is to learn from others that have mastered the one thing you need to learn! -
OPPO!!! Denon can make a good product but there are little things that make the experience less enjoyable. Oppo does thorough testing to make sure you get the absolute best product for you money.

Oppo is the way to go. I gave up on the Denon which is over-priced and unreliable unless you cough up over $4k to get some decent parts NOT made in China. Vann's has the 2930ci on sale for $199.00 ( MSRP $849.00 ) and the 2500 BTCI on sale for $299.00 ( MSRP $899.00), It is tempting but after reading so many complaining abt the 2930 ci unreliablity due to cheap Chinese parts. Thanks to those folks over AVS forums , they have saved some of my hard earned money to buy something else not a double steel cage " brick" ( if you wonder why it weights 30lbs ) a year from the date of purchae if you are lucky.

Well, good new for those who wants the Denon name on their gear: Listenup.com has NIB denon 3800 Ci on sale for $699.00. Here you go, MSRP of $1,999.00 can be had for $699.00. It's like seeing a most beautiful woman in the club who may have STD. It's a good name ( Denon), sexy box ( re-badge from Funai Corp. for those who know Funai TVs). Any one knows this one made in China also? Tranversed driver failure pre-maturely is the major issue for these Funai re-bage Denon, do not say I do not warn you. Pick your own poison.

Well what do you think the warranty is for ? I know that my sexy high end denon is arriving on monday for less than half the price people pay for the oppo .
Sure the oppo has amazing vhs tape features but no one realy cares about that old stuff anymore . Its all about bluray and my denon will be superior to the oppo because of the drive mechanism employed with no inteferance from all the crap being crammed into a tiny box
opp yours I await the denon and can use the savings for somthing fun -
Yes, if it crap out after one year, I do not want to cough up $300.00 for a new driver. Reliability is the issue here. No offense intended. I do not believe "hi-end" is a properly described Denon, Pio elite , Yammy or Integra ... products. Mid-end products are such Rotel, B &K, Adcom....otherwise, it's all low-end products no matter how the products are re-baged in a fancy aluminum cage. Good luck to your new purchase. Happy listenning.

So your for sure that every denon is going to break down after a year?
You are certain of this? -
Listen, I do not give a darn about Denon, Pio, Yammy....or any brand name. I am not that immature. I am not any brand fan but rather what's in it for me in term of for quality and price. I would like though to let the consumers know what they get into. If you are a Denon fan, my apology to you. I know 2 facts : 1. It's a re-badge of a Funai products in a fancy cage and I do not believe Funai corp has a good reputation in term of reliablity. Once a consumer buys a product with a branded name on the outer cage but the gut is built by another not very reliable company. 2. That's what I know about TRANVERSED DRIVER FAILURE PREMATURELY from these Funai-Denon DVD /BPproducts personally and the rest you can google AVS forums for some unhappy campers who had to pay round trip shipping when the thing craps out w/in a year of warranty. After a year, it's a $300.00 job for repacing the driver. Hey, as much as I want to have a 2500 at give away price but as I said before I restrainted myself from any products that has consumers complaints often. It's $299.00 instead of $899.00 for a reason. There is no free lunch. As I said in previous post, congrat to your new purchase. Enjoy it. Cheer!

I am not implying your imature but rather voicing my concern . I have had to wait on repairs for goods before and its not very pleasurable . You have me deeply concerned about my purchasing of this bdp . I think I will put it through some rigorous testing against the ps3 on monday
If the performance doesn't outweigh the risk then I will send it back to overstock
I do thank you for bringing this to my attention -
Hey, buymesome, Does Overstock offer you warranty or extended warranty? Just enjoy it man. I have enough (3) Blueray players right now but I may order the 2500 CI for the hell of it and I may be lucky this time . BTW, Vann's claims they are an authorized dealer. Anyway, the DVD2930 ci is the one with the most complaints. Denon makes good money though by replacing a $12.00 driver for $300.00. Not much complaint abt the 2500 ci but they are made under the same production lines in China owned by Funai. Anyway, it may take a while to crap out on you. When It starts not reading the disk then you know you need to save up $300.00 for repair or get another Denon on discount. It will be a nice doorstopper though, LOL , an expensive one if you are a not too lucky one. Seriously, I was burned before while paying full MSRP for the 2930ci that crapped out 3 times within a year. As long as they work, you will like the picture quality ( one of the best). Cheer!
