Buzzing Sound

Posted earlier in another forum: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88350 about a buzzing type sound in the woofer of one of my Mini-Monitors (one tweeter (about an inch) and woofer (about 5in or so)) bookshelf speakers. It only happens at certain mid-low frequencies at moderate volumes. A member recommended I take it apart to see if there is something obvious in the way that is causing the buzz. How would I go about doing that?

First I would apply even pressure to the cone and push it in as far as you can. Did you hear or feel any scratchy noises? If no do the same procedure favoring one side a little more than the other. Any scratchiness heard/felt? Again if no remove the driver and do the same thing on the back side of the cone. Still not make noise? Swap in the driver from theother speaker and fire it up. If the distortion is gone it is a bad driver issue. If it is still there post again and we will dig deeper.

You remove the screws to remove the driver.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

When I press evenly on the cone, both speakers don't make the scratching sound. Uneven pressure makes the sound on both speakers.

    Fixed!!
Fortunately, it was a simple problem. Foam on the inside was falling off and resonating. Thanks for the help.
