I go back and forth between pure direct and stereo on my Yami, but for hard rock I will sometimes use two channel enhanced

I like my Shure 97xe cartridge.

I'm not impressed by the photo-pre capabilities of the onkyo though recievers though. I listen to LPs and CDs in Direct mode on my Onkyo 777, but I'm considering a seperate Pre because I'm not happy with it.

It sounds quite good with Def Leppard and other metal bands... otherwise I do not use it.

Sadly I haven't heard v15, but for $80 shipped from amazon, you can't beat the M97xe.... It sounds miles better than the Audio Technica cart that was on my t/t when I bought it.
