This is hilarious . . . if I keep seeing videos like this then I won't be so angry about my tax dollars paying for this organization.

Who would ever support such an organization? Not me but someone must, right?
I'm sure it's an isolated situation.

You may want to rethink that statement if you pay taxes. IIRC there was a ton of cash that went to ACORN in the Stimulus package.

I'm confused, do you have an issue with prostitutes or ACORN? I considered ACORN is close to a four letter word, but felt the forum was mature enough to handle it.

No need to be confused about. Like I said, no comment on the Video and not interested in either pimps and prostitutes or ACORN.

The words you choose in the thread title will just make Polk Audio Appears on the Google or Yahoo Searches soon enough. Aside from the contents in the thread, I don't like to see Polk Audio in these searches.

    Maturity? Hardly in this forum!!!

They're being investigated in 14 states. These people didn't get 'fired', they got relocated, to another George Soros organization.

Yes, "The Polk Audio Forum" IS more than likely to appear in regards to anyone googling the thread title, but any lowlife or maggot expecting to be "entertained" will be sorely disappointed given the content and context of the topic. After all, this is an AUDIO forum, and SS is a standup member. Really dont agree, the wording of his thread subject, or the connection, will do anything to soil the Forum. Think your getting hysterical over nothing.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! The sky is falling!!! The sky is falling!!! Now every pederast, perve, child molester, baby snatcher, necorphiliac, master, servant, donkey puncher, clown rapist is going to invade our peaceful, private oasis.

What horror you hath wrought SolidSqual! Now the rivers will run red with the blood of all Believers! Will someone please think of the children?!?!
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

You're the one whining like a child. Whether you like it or not, ACORN is a very real issue in the adult world. A constructive yet humorous dialogue among friends on a topic like this is what (edit: added "is") mature people do.

I'm sick of people with weak sensibilities who think if they pretend hard enough then reality will cease to exist.

You must have confused a couple of things again. It is OK to get pissed for my comment about your poor wording in the title. You think what you said is appropriate as a thread title and I said why I think it's a poor choice of wording.

And NO, you don't need to think hard to understand that commenting about real life problems on Club Polk will be necessarily doing anything to help the reality. If you want to help, try busting more ACORN's brainless suckers like the ones in the Video.

But I'll stand by my comment - I have nothing to comment on the ACORN. There are plenty of people who may still needs ACORN help!

Mega jerks exist in every corner of every society and it does not mean a society as a whole is WRONG.

I contribute in my community and watching kids in my neighborhood to make sure Kids don't get involved themselves in this kind of stupid things and thugs don't get their hands on innocent kids. But I do less talking!

    Ditto.

You young guys out there are about to lose alot of your freedoms of choice and have massive taxes leveled upon ALL of us in many forms. There's alot more to this ACORN and SEIU thing.

It sux to say this because, in my young days, I didn't have to worry about the goings on, and politics but now it is the top of the ninth to keep this country sane and solvent.

Interesting fact, ACORN has been around since 1970. It's first influx of power came, ironically enough, via the Reagan Revolution as a counter to the policies of that administration. For 30 years it played second fiddle to the Rainbow Coalition, thus staying under the radar.

I was glad to see the Census Bureau end any connection. I hope HUD follows along, though it is fair to say that within ACORN there are many good and decent people who are trying in an honest way to help their community.

This very much reminds me of the paranoia by democrats of the Religious Right during the 1990's thru 2004. The more things change, the more they stay the same.....sadly.

This very much reminds me of the paranoia by democrats of the Religious Right during the 1990's thru 2004. The more things change, the more they stay the same.....sadly.

The religious right has never been as organized as ACORN, as disruptive to our democracy as ACORN, as willing to use the law of our country against our government and the People, or as a part of normal functions allocated to the government. The paranoia may be the same, but the reasons for it are not.

The fact is that ACORN is a mega million dollar massive conglomerate that uses innocent people for its own political ends . . . essentially everything they accuse the Right of doing.

I realize the following is one-sided, but all the facts are independently verifiable. Most of which, in my own political interest, I have verified. Check this out from RottenAcorn.com:

"ACORN calls itself a community group, but it is really a multi-million-dollar, multi-national conglomerate. Its political agenda is driven by a relative handful of political thugs for hire. ACORN spends millions promoting economic policies (like raising the minimum wage), but doesn't always want to abide by them.

In fact, ACORN sued the state of California to get out of paying its own employees the minimum wage, and even fought their efforts to create a union.

Before “subprime” became a household word, ACORN waded into the mortgage market, supporting policies that helped lay the groundwork for the catastrophic lending collapse of 2008. Working with another activist group, the Center for Responsible Lending, ACORN lobbied legislators and banks to ensure that any person, regardless of credit history, income, or assets, would qualify for a mortgage. They mastered the art of pressuring banks – often through radical and controversial methods – to provide subprime loans to all comers. It was many of these “toxic” loans that defaulted and sparked the subprime mortgage crisis.

ACORN's influence extends to the political sphere as well. The group is perhaps best known for its widely-reported role in voter fraud across the country.

During the last two election cycles, it was under investigation for election fraud and related offenses in nearly 20 states. Want examples?

ACORN returned to the national spotlight during the 2008 election when its employees turned in fraudulent voter registration files, including listing the Dallas Cowboys’ starting lineup as voters in Nevada. This blatant attempt at fraud led authorities to raid ACORN’s offices in the state. Not to be outdone, ACORN canvassers in Florida actually attempted to turn in forms registering Mickey Mouse as a voter. And ACORN managed to register a seven-year old girl to vote in Connecticut. The list goes on.

Nation-wide investigations into ACORN’s role in voter fraud have yielded dozens of indictments. Nevada recently charged ACORN with 26 counts of voter registration fraud and 13 counts of illegally compensating canvassers. In Pennsylvania, seven Pittsburgh-area ACORN employees were charged with falsifying voter registration forms. Six of them were accused of doing so to meet an illegal quota system.

Considering the number of voter fraud incidents still under investigation, expect more charges in the coming months.

Now ACORN is lobbying to get more of your hard earned tax dollars to fund their fraud.

It’s time to send a message to ACORN and the government that is funding them. It’s time to end the corruption."

Actually, Truth is not always a good defense to slander (ironic?). Courts look at what the truth is and whether the conveyor of the truth did so with malice or personal gain that somehow outweighs the truth. There's all kinds of things that come into play. ACORN is probably claiming tortious interference among other claims surrounding contracts that ACORN claims they lost because of FNC. ACORN is looking to waste FNC's money and maybe even a settlement just to get them to shutup. However, FNC has even more money than ACORN and may be willing to draw the line and set an example at the cost of their bottom line. Who knows.

FNC has the first amendment and freedom of the press to back up their truth claim. ACORN is going to want to make FNC to be a big business more interested in profit than news. Either way, this lawsuit should be perceived as an assault on Free Speech. It's designed to get people with contrary views to shut their mouths. ACORN is not looking to win a lawsuit. They just want to sue as many people as possible and waste their money until no one is willing to fight back.
