Faulty PSW200 volume control

The volume control on my venerable PSW200 is not working too well. It's scratchy and mostly either off or full on. Way too loud for my bookshelf speakers. I suspect it is corroded from too long spent by the beach. Is there any hope for replacing the pot myself?
Thanks!

It might just need a good cleaning. You may elect to go to Rat Shack and get a product called Caig De-oxit. Read the directions, apply directly to the electrical contact points, then turn the knob all the way back and forth to clean the contact points. You will have to remove the amp [very easy] to do this. See if that works for ya'.

    Oh, welcome to the forum.

    That worked like a charm.
    Thank you.

Now I just need to find some replacement sticky-backed vinyl to return it to its former glory. It started to come loose and proved irresistable to a small child who peeled most of it of! I might just give it a coat of black paint.

You are very welcome. I can't help you with the vinyl though.

IF you still have the vinyl pieces, you could always just re-contact cement it back on.

Go to a web site called parts express. Purchase 2 products. It's magic in a can.You need to buy Deoxit part#F5S-H6. tHERE SHOULD BE A SMALL ACCESS HOLE ON THE POT. sPRAY THIS PRODUCT IN THE HOLE AND WORK YOUR POT FROM STOP TO STOP several TIMES. Wait a day and repeat. Then purchase Deoxit part#F100S-L2. tHE 1ST PRODUCT IS A FLUSHING SOLUTION AND WILL PUT A HEAVY HIT ON ANY CORROSION. 2nd product is a pot lubricant. Work stop to stop several times. If this doesn't cure it it is replacement time. I have a batting avg.of 100% fixing EQ slides in this manner. Killer stuff.
