I've been looking for a place for a while and several months ago I found a new Townhouse that I liked and have spent a ridiculous amount of time hunting for everything that I wanted (cabinets, carpet, fixtures, etc).

It's 2674sf and has 3 bedrooms 2.5 bath finished with an unfinished basement that has room for one more bedroom and another bath. I also can put a 17x17 theater room down there (no idea when the hell i'll get around to that to be honest).....

They finally got the carpet installed this week and I'm heading out to take some more pics today, but here are a few albums of the place.

Looking Good Brett. I agree that an upgraded granite counter top should be 1-1/8"+ thick.

I usually suggest to my customers to drill a second hole at the kitchen sink and install a soap dispenser, this way if you want to add something (water filter, instant hot) in the future you don't have the hassle and mess of drilling a hole later.

It has a programmable thermostat, but in all honesty with as much as I'm traveling, it will be in the OFF position........though I did talk to people that have my size place and they said their utilities at worst were $90 or so with gas and electric.....

Little tiles in the kitchen or little tiles in the master bathroom floor?

Nice place, and tell Melody she is hawt!!!

My advice to anyone who moves in is to resist temptation and spend a good two or three months starring at your empty space and researching option after option before deciding for sure what paint, style, and furniture to go with. :o)

The only thing I need to purchase will be furniture. I'm resisting the urge to put my 52" LCD above the fireplace, but until the basement is finished, there's really not a good place to put it which is annoying me.......i REALLY don't like the idea of it being over the fireplace, but I don't know that I'm going to have much of a choice.........

I'm making them take the sidesplash and bullnose the bottom edge of that. I actually don't know how it's gonna look, but the sidesplash at the bottom will be bullnosed to match. If they can get the laminate to curve for the countertop itself, there's absolutely no reason they can't do it for the sidesplash.

It's really about semantics at this point.......while I do like the countertops for now, I'm wanting to get something else in their place...just not sure what as of yet. As much BS as I've dealt with from these people on a few things, I'm gonna make them jump through some hoops...... :D

    Looks good Brett.

You might come to appreciate the darker floor tiles more since they won't show dirt as much.

Nice digs. First thing to go would be that little toilet, though.

Just moved into my new house 1 week ago. There will probably never be a better time to buy in our lifetimes.

I still think we have a little further to slide, but the prices with the interest rates and incentives definately make it a good time to buy if you are financially stable and have the need. There is still a good wave of foreclosures on the way, the trick is getting one that isn't too wrecked. lol

I have always loved butcher block countertops, lumberliquidators has them at a steal as well.

I'm amazed that I even agreed to get this considering it's practically full retail out here in UT.....the economy is pretty stable here comparative to most places......house prices never really dumped, or even slid all that far........

I jumped at this one though to get something I could totally customize and pick what I wanted in it.......I figure it'll work for about 5 years and then I'll want to do the standalone home thing later.....for now, I travel too much to even remotely want to deal with it......and how many townhomes are pushin 2700sf, ya know?

    WIN WIN WIN......lol

I went out today at lunch to basically do polite version of me wanting to beat the sales agent into the ground and he was so accomodating......amazing.......

The shower that was installed is actually 2" shorter than it should be.....their designers didn't account for the fact that when you go from a frame surrounded door to a frameless, that you have to add the frame amount into the mix to keep the shower at the same height.......morons.....

On the AC pipe in the basement that needs to be redone I pointed out that I'm not moving a wall 2' out to accomodate something that was installed incorrectly......he's going to talk to the GC on that one.....

The 4' section under the stairs in the basement is going to be talked about covering as well. It makes zero sense not to considering every other surface under there is sheetrocked over.....

The laminated sidesplashes have been miraculously replaced with a profile to match the counter. The sales agent (moron) said "it looks so much better I can't believe they wouldn't normally do that," to which I almost punched him in the face.......don't question me again MFr.....lol.......

The lighting in the kitchen is going to be relooked at because they grouped everything tight in there to the point that the fridge area looks dark comparative to the rest of the area and they also did the same thing in the Master Bath.......

The toilets are going to stay as is (which I will be replacing soon) but I'm still going to talk to the GC tomorrow on that because they look almost like a non-toilet with how fraile they look....lol.....

Otherwise, things should be completed and I will be closing on Wed. the 16th.......fun times.......
