+1 for me but I want the vinyl version as I think my Yamaha PX-3 is good enough to handle it.

There is something quite disconcerting about seeing the arm jump straight out of a groove....

I have the 1812 SACD...and while it is a very good SACD from a sonic perspective (the canon shots and all that)...the actual performance is just average at best.

You know every time I turn around I find some bad news about our loved industry. Companies going out of business is getting really old.

When is it going to end????

Not just audio related companies. Look around...companies are closing shop in all areas...and some of them have been in business for many years.

Things like audio that vie for discretionary dollars are especially hard hit. While many of us think audio/video is a staple of life...to most it is a luxury item and purchases are put off or just never made at all.

Many of the small audio companies were already hanging on by a thread anyway and this massive recession was the final blow. The ones that can hold on and survive MAY be able to do well once things get better. I think it will be many years before the average consumer returns to the spending levels of the past (if at all). The consumer related sales/mfg. companies will have to do a much better job with all aspects of their business if they hope remain viable in the future.

I have to admit that the dire economic news since Sept'08 suck all the fun of spending money for audio & video.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Another bummer. I certainly got hours of enjoyment from his performances. He was a great director. RIP.
