If someone you trust says it's a good deal then it probably is. If someone vettes the seller that's another uptick. If you don't see one of these two indicators then it's time to PM someone you trust. If you're to new to know anyone, then stay away from the FM until you do. It works fine. Crapping on someone's FS thread is bad manners. If it ain't golden it will go away.

    Combo rig:

    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

I have no problem with a "good deal" bump. It benefits both the seller and any potential buyer. ...
I think the FM works rather well, actually, but I have noticed "good deal" bumps being made even when it obviously isn't (a good deal, that is) to anyone who has done some well directed research. I find those bumps annoying, since I always find myself hoping some newbie won't be fooled by the overly enthusiastic comments and "good deal" bumps from those who have no intention of buying.

Bumping a thread to mention that you have dealt directly with the seller, and that the transaction was a pleasure from start to finish, is a useful comment IMO. For me, personally, however, it would take something more than a nondescript "Wow, great xxxx! Stupid price!" bump to get me to jump on the "deal".

The only discussion of the FM, as described by the OP, IMO, concerns new members exclusively, since most that have been around for a while know exactly what the score is, and how to figure out if something is genuine or not.

Edit! While I was typing, Ron more or less said the same thing ... sorry for any perceived redundancy.

This is some great gear, at a great price! Someone really needs to jump on this...I'm tempted, but I really can't justify spending the coin right now.

    Good luck with the sale.

I would never wear assless chaps...especially not in Chi. I'm all about the Daisy Dukes. And yes, I WILL be wearing them. If I end up going of course.

If Jessica Simpson was my girlfriend, I think I'd have better things to do than go to a bunch of Hi-Fi shops with you guys.:p;)

And she doesn't look like that anymore ;)

Additionally, I think it's hilarious when someone says on another forum. "Hey, I got a chance to pick up **** for $800, if only I could sell my YYY for $800 which isn't nearly as good, it'd be great."

And then post a FS thread here, and all the poster chime in (great deal, a steal!!). Someone jump on this.

It's the same on every FS forum regardless of the mech involved that are loosely moderated. Human nature I guess.

I am quite sure none of you bunch of butt munchers is going to give JS a kick from beneath the covers. OK exception for Danger Boy and Brett but not even sure about those two, I mean it is JS afterall.

Now then dk, are you saying you have been lurking over that past 8 years or so and have an understanding of the Polk FM and its history?? OK rhetorical, I think you have not, what you are describing is the FM for the past year or so.

I think if someone would post the rules up about the FM that might take care of things.
