    A power conditioner may help with the buzzing issue. I had a similar issue with my GFA-545 for a while. It had a slight buzz that was audible from about a foot away. A while back I got an APC H10 power conditioner, and it solved the problem. You can still here a slight hiss coming from the speakers, but your ear has to be literally within 2 inches of the tweeter to even be able to hear it.

    I can fully recommend the APC power conditioners. The H10 is a fantastic unit, and the can be had for real cheap. It doesn't color the sound, it cleaned up my buzzing issues, and has all the outlets I'll ever need. It has voltage regulation too, which is a very nice feature.

    The H15 is an even better unit. I intend on upgrading to an H15 eventually, and using the H10 with a future computer 2 channel rig.



    Congrats on the 5802!! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it after you've spent some more time with it. Whenever I decide to get a new amp, it will most likely be a 5802.

    Well my 750 is in my rig, Lets just say if you have been thinking about this pre, Quit thinking and find one. I was real happy with the 715 and I still think it's a great pre, But the 750 is awesome.

    Everytime I think 10,000 Days by TOOL can not sound any better then this, I get slapped in the face.

    The GFP-750 GFA-5802 combo is a big compliment to the SDA's.

    So I take it you're not a HT man anymore? Haven't seen any updates to the HT rig. I guess 2 channel rules.

    Yep, and I am happy with where my HT rig is even with the Emotiva XPA-3 in it. LOL:D

    SDA's and 2 channel is where it's at for me right now. I have been having a blast trying out other gear.

    I need to find a phono pre now, I have to have my vinyl fix.:cool:

    The nice thing about the GFP-750 is it can do HT and 2 channel, double duty.

    Can I use the GFP-715 as a phono pre? for short term.

    Can I just go out the Bypass on the 715 into an aux in the 750?

    Glad you're enjoying a very underrated pre-amp. I think the best way is to run the 715 thru the processor loop/bypass. I run a tube pre-amp thru the HT bypass and I can then switch between, tubes, active and passive. It works very, very well and keeps me from having to constantly swap the Dared tube pre in and out of my system.

    So more specifically is to:

    output from the 715 to input on the processor loop of 750 then output of processor loop of 750 to amp input. You need to have both pre-amps powered and when you run the 750 in processor mode you then have full control with the 715.

    Make sense?

    I have the same components and I also had the low level buzzing. I could not here it from the seating position that I normally use with my SRS's, but it bothered me that the buzz was noticeable from the tweets as a went by the speakers to change disc's.
    So I contacted Adcom and they said it was a 60 hertz ground loop issue that would be eliminated by going to balanced interconnects. I purchased King Cobra XLR's and the buzzing went away.
    I also found it interesting that three different kinds of unbalanced cables had different levels to the buzzing, which was also leading me to believe cable shielding issues were also coming into play. Also I tried two different power conditioners and grounding the components together and the buzz remained.
    I have recently removed the 5802 from the system to test the 565's and the 555 mkII amps which have been in storage for a few years and I do not have any buzzing with either amps when used in combination with the GFP-750.

    Thanks for the help H9,

    I will try this tomorrow if I get a chance.

    On another note I have been playing with the 750 all day, I have to say I like it in reverse, and passive mode the best. This is a fantastic pre amp, now if I can get my hands on a DAC, and Phono Pre, I will be looking good.I am so glad I was talked into getting the 750 PRE.

    I was listening to Roberta Flack a little while ago, WOW!! it sounded great.
