Hi all, I am very happy I was able to buy this pair of speakers.
Here are some small pictures, sorry not the best camera.
They are playing music and getting adjusted as I write this but the sound is just wounderful.

I am hoping that my centrel channel can hold and I don't notices much of timber problems...

This year I was very lucky to find some very good deals and move my music and HT setup to a higher level.

I am all smiles at this point....

The first thing I notices right away is the avility to place the speakers in shuch a way that it is very clear the placement of instruments and the 3 dimentionality of the sound. wow.

My new speakers are B&W 804s, they are replacing my trusted Polk Rti6's.
These have been very good to me for a bit more than a year but I always though that the middle was missing.

Ok that is it for now :)

Now these would be worth the MIT upgrade. Get some solid separates then dive deep into the hardcore cables.

You know I tried many things with my RTi6's, including different positions and different hights, close to the wall, away from the wall, inside my cabinet and outside the cabinet and so on. My poor wife was there with the kids( as they still have better hearing than me... yes I realized that...) and at the end there was no noticeble change in sound. Which I happend to be glad about because it basically said, these speakers are so well made that are not as sensitive and picky as what I read from some of our members.

Now with the B&W 804s, immediately you notice a big change if you happen to hit the sweet spot as to where they need to be, the sound becomes very detail, and you can tell where the instruments are, it is like the sound becomes 3D and the signer is right in the middle. It is very noticeble. My wife immediately said, right there don't move.. my kids say wow now I know what you are talking about... it was a great experience...

As far as the center channel, It does look good but I found that my CSi5 can keep up with the dialog just fine, maybe next year when I recover from this purchase I will add the center channel. It does looks nice ...

thats sort of sad for me to hear. this is the single huge factor may stopping my upgrade plan for RTI a7 or even furthur polk products. I love my RTI6 very very much, love the airy feeling, richness, detail, crystal highs, transparency, except the low mids, specially bottom end male vocal or some female vocal, which is extremely important for my music preference. and you know, theres a big difference when you have something u cant complain vs u dont like, RTI6 is almost the perfect speaker for me at this point.
i posted a thread here regarding to this problem but not solved
    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85879&highlight=rti6

i dont think im the only one experience this problem here r something negative i found

"I thought they looked good but not so much now...vocals can get lost if poorly mounted/located...get them up up and apart."

"bottom end sounds unatural m,like plastic tupperware

    REVIEW:
I bought a polk sub to try to complete the poor bottom end,but the drums domt sound natural they sound like someones drumming on plastic carbage can covers.I`m very tormented by their failure to reproduce sound naturally.
I gave a 3 because the top end is clean.
    Sound like tupperware"

and the RTIa3 review from affordableaudio.com

from where i live (Toronto), i dont think theres an oppotunity for me to audit A7 in a nice environment. im a poor student, worked hard this summer to save money for some sound gears. its very unlikly for me to spend over 3K US to get a B&W 804. around 1k US, RTIa7 is about the most i can afford for next stage investment next summer, and, i really want to get rid of this low-mid problem. and the only amp i got is Denon AVR 789 and will not be able to invest another AVR with preout + amp. If im going for other well made mid-fi brands like paradigm Then I have to get rid my CSIa4 and get different centre, which I really dont want.
but at this point, ill still be optimistic since i havent put up the speaker stands yet.

if anyone audited RTI6 vs RTI10/RTIa7 please jump in ill be greatly appreciated.

I feel your dilema. I also didn't have anything negative to say about the rti6's. just to give you an idea of how commited I was to the rti6's I personaly built my entertaiment center cabinet using measurements specifically for the rti6 and the sci5 for the center channel.
I specifically wanted rti6's because they are front firing and I was able to put them inside my Ent center. I also have to say for movies the rti6's are a great speaker to have.
But I always say to my wife, you know I feel something is missing specially in the mids.. and also that they sound a bit boomi, and she kept on saying it was all in my head ha ha ha...that I am never happy.
Well she has change her tune... since I bought the b&w's.

I was very lucky to just drop by the b&w dealer here where I live and they had some insentives so I was able to get them otherwise i would have had to accept the fact that they were out of my price range...

I would love to join you bro. I went to a dealer out here in Japan and was quoted roughly 16K for a pair of 802D and the HTM2D. I have no clue as to what these go for in the USA, but I don't think it's that much. I personally like the SQ of B&W. The only thing I question is why everyone always pairs them up with Classe amps. I'd love to hear a pair driven with an ICE amp.

But, all in good time. I may still end up with a pair before yrs end or early Spring. We shall see I guess. I really do want to try something else out as well, but for H/T those RTi12s perform very well. If not B&W then perhaps Focal.

I drive my N804 with Rotel RB-1092 ICEpower amp and they just melt into the surroundings. I don't even 'see' them, just hear them. I would definitely consider bi-wiring them or at the very least use a quality jumper. If they will be on a hard surface floor use the spikes - if on a wood floor get some rubber feet. I use a B&W ASW800 sub with mine.

Mind me asking what incentives your dealer was offering?

I notice that you have catcables as IC's what are you using for speaker cable?

Nice to know there are people with b&w here...

I am using a 4/14ga in-wall rated wire from acousticimpact.com. Nothing exotic at all. I had 2 35' runs to do so I did not want to spend mega-$ for wire. For my Dynaudio set up I am using Kimber Kable 12TC - a very smooth, silky sounding cable. Give your 804s about 100 hrs of break-in before any serious listening.

Did you get your 804s from Modia/Home Theater Store?

I did get them from Modia/home theater. Nice people, and they didn't try to upsale me on anything wich I really appreciate.

Thanks for the heads up of the break-in time I am trying to keep the listening to normal levels.
