Lightman and I rocked it out yesterday -

He busted his butt for sure... wired up the master bedroom AND the den for light... today we are going to get the dedicated going for sure... Three 20 amp breakers, woah!

All the curtain rods in the den are hung (ironed and all, hehe), I mounted the TV mount and started tearing apart the kitchen a little bit!

    Woo Hoo!

Once he is done, putting down the final coat of finish on the wood floor - some touch up paint...

Then Wednesday gotta call the cable dudes probably to terminate the cable line again...

Thursday move in some stuff... and start tearing apart the kitchen...

    Kitchen To Do List -

    1) New Floor
    2) New counter tops
    3) New Sink & Faucet
    4) Garbage Disposal
    5) Reframe the cabinets
    6) recessed lighting & new overhead lighting
    7) Lighting for the utility closet
    8) Under-cabinet lighting

    10) New outlets throughout
    11) Recessed lighting on a dimmer for when eating dinner

    Actually --

I am putting tons of plywood into the cabinets. I am putting a new back to it (what goes against the walls) - dividers between sections, new shelves, new doors

New backs to the top cabinets and dividers

The cabinets are old school and need a lot of updating.

Be easier to rip out and replace... Havent priced new cabinets lately, but from the sounds of it you're putting a lot of wood into the existing ones, which I'm sure is costing a bit of money...

I agree. It sounds like you are replacing everything except the face and basically rebuilding them.

It sounds like your completely rebuilding the cabinets...Did you price out buying new???

By the time you build all the boxes, make the front styles and doors, buy and install all the hardware, then depending on your finish, this could take quite a bit of time....not to mention the specialty tools you might need, and the amount of space needed to do this project.

Depending upon your experience with this type of work, it could be easy or a real nightmare......

Ah Nah - I have been doing framing and woodworking since I was like 13...

I've made alot of furniture and speaker cabinets....

I don't want the cabinets you can buy because I want flush mount doors that have no frame.

We are going for a very specific look and I would have to spend thousands in premade cabinets to get that look.
