its acid can severely compromise the systems presentation.
Personnally, I think the generated acid is a plus as the acid generates the extra current needed for a boost of clarity... Of course, in order to see the difference your sytem must be worth the upgrade. As everyones knows, some low end systems aren't worth the cost of the upgrade.

    And ya, tubes rule. ;)

    Told you so.

I would think a tubed cable lifter could help most systems. One thing for sure I would never use some cheap **** four figure lifter, you gotta go five figures to really get the current hi-fi tech.

Funny thread but it did remind me I need to get those cables off the ground. The damn vibrations ruin the cable burn in and the sound changes have been bugging me.

Do you have any dampers on your light bulbs to reduce ringing?

I also use lightbulbs as cable lifters and the lightbulbs are in series with the cable providing me 2 good positives:

    1. I can say my cables are tubed... lightbulbs are tubes, right?

    2. You should see the tubes/lightbulbs flashing to the beat of the music

Gota say it man, tubes rule :D

    Hey Polkies,

I am very happy that most of you have gotten a laugh out of this thread, that was the point, nothing more. It was interesting to see that there were far less negative feedback than positive. Sometimes this forum just gets a little too serious. Everyday people are arguing the same stuff that gets argued everyone else in our daily lives. We are into audio because at the end of the day it is nice to come home, sit somewhere quiet, listen to our favorite music and forget about the all the bad in the world.

Look folks, laying your cables directly on any produce without proper protective padding will cause unwanted skin effect that will result in unnatural and grainy sound. It's also worth noting that as the holder rots, its acid can severely compromise the systems presentation. This is particularly true with non shielded cables.

That's why I wrap my tomato's in air sealed condoms before using them in the damping application. It takes some time and experimentation, but once you get it set up properly, the results speak for themselves!

    Classic.

I've upgraded to halogen bulbs because the normal bulbs were 'too warm' for my tastes, needed something a bit brighter :D:p

I wanted to save some members from grief and point out that after a short time, tomotoes and other vegetables go bad, smell, look unsightly, and cause stains. Used hockey pucks are cheap and are just as effective for audio performance without the problems.

What weight do you advise? the 6 oz,4 or 10? I think a 4oz would be to light and not control the soundstage as much. Of course a 10oz would make a warm amp really bass heavy. I think the 6oz would be best, good soundstaging, great textured bass with shimmering highs.

Oh, and how many hours on the ice to get broken in?
